Some art is serious with a message some art isn't. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

You've been able to buy a googly eyed animal birthday card on the high street for years so no one is saying it's anything new.

Just for the record I never insulted JBOY/freerange or even the image of the print. its not something i would hang personally and I dont mind if people do like it and buy it. Its good that they are creating work and deff should keep at it. I dont care hash tagging banksy in your instagram.

I was just looking at the sig and wanted to know why is the s and y a copy of the banksy signature. why not roll with their own which will give more credibility imo.

I also think the use of the eyes shouldnt be compared to banksy. its nothing to do with it. even if the influence came from the work thats no problem as JBOY have created something new.

Something about these seem really fishy to me.

For one, the pictures posted are most certainly created in photoshop. On Jboy's website these "originals" are described as being done on canvas. But viewing a larger version of the picture, it's clearly on top of a paper background, and a zoomed-in one at that.

Secondly, the gold/silver version is on the EXACT same paper background (look at the dots on the paper). The exact same paper background that every past "original" that was created with spraypaint in the Jboy store is on. The only proof of an original actually existing on canvas happens to be the two only pieces that were just screenprints and crayon, and didn't contain any so called stencil and spraypaint.

A stencil of that complexity would be very difficult to pull off. Especially with the grainy effect on the mime.

Mocking things up digitally is fine, but why are these images being passed off as the real thing?

Banksy has loved a bit of stock photo for years. I remember a old photo of him in his studio painting and there was a copy of a Tony Stone catalogue in the background.

what do you mean by photoshop artists?

It is rare that anything is not done outside of software these days. That eelus would have been illustrator/photoshop. I dont understand the problem
