What Music are you listening to at the moment ?, by Deleted on Jun 25, 2021 23:43:25 GMT 1, Must have been similar time I think, it was the nevermind tour and they were just about to explode, would have been amazing in such a small venue I saw the Pixies live at Crystal Palace Bowl in 91, and a couple of times since. I donโt remember anything about the gig, apart from the fact that I was with a friend who was a newly qualified lawyer, working in crime, who was on call. She couldnโt drink, but we could. Just before the Pixies started, she got the call and had to go to the nick! I did feel very sorry for her.
Iโve been lucky enough to see the Pixies about 10 times since about 88. Only sawNirvana once though - at Reading, the year before they broke - wandered off to watch the Power of Dreams or American Music Club if I recall- should have stayed.

Still one of the best voices ever, remember it once being described as an anguished howl and that was spot on. Was supposed to see them at Gloucester leisure centre on the Bossanova tour but couldn't go, think the folks deemed me too young but my cousin went. The ones that got away. Missed out on Nirvana at the bierkeller too. Oh, I can imagine how you feel! I missed out on Nirvana in Paradiso, Amsterdam in 1991 :-(

Can't remember much apart from we were in a right mess and it was so cold! We went over on one of those party buses and ferry from London. Great times back then ๐
