Moona painted over, by Hugs on Jun 18, 2007 22:45:49 GMT 1, The Moona Lisa outside the wonderfull workshop in Bristol has been painted over according to the workshops myspace. I know Bristol city council were not happy with the piece and wanted her removed,a petition was organised to keep her in all her bare arsed glory for all to see. This looks like it was done by someone other than the council judging by the mess they made,a real shame this as the amount of people who gave posative feedback about Moona was amazing,I was lucky enough to be there when Nick painted her up and i hope he gets the cans out and paints her up again.

Moona painted over, by Art-el on Jun 19, 2007 17:49:42 GMT 1, I find it incredible that the council have backed there selves into such a corner.
It was a great day when they listened to the people and decided not to buff the Banksy at the bottom of Park Street.
One of the reasons given when ordering the Moona be removed, was that it was close to a school!! The same kids no doubt who are feed a diet of mtv, xbox, and sweatshop produced designer tags. Lets debate the REAL world please
I am aware that the shop owner is unhappy it has been removed. So if by chance it were to reappear twice the size perhaps people could express their wish for it to stay by contacting Bristol City Council.
There number is readily available on the internet, as is that of Chief executive Nick Gurney and the Lord Mayor Royston Grissey.
If all that felt compelled dropped emails to these people (if she was to be mysteriously repainted) then it may be very amusing to back the council into a very uncomfortable position.
Which would no doubt be great local press now that appearing/reporting/debating anything remotely 'street' is the new Black.
To keep up to date with her possible reappearance check www.thewonderfulworkshop.com
Spark debate. Reclaim the streets. Voice your beef. Just do it
