Below are the complete Bast Pinocchio Iguana prints from castor gallery NY.

















I've added 3 more photo of this print. The first is my print and a paste version given to me by gogiarts. The second one see the next screen printed on top and the third one was sent to me by George Benius with all the prints on the floor in the Bast studio. If you have noticed there are 6 prints here but only 5 were sols by castor gallery.

Bast Goofy. Two canvasses put together with wooden bits nailed on the side. This artwork was shown at the War & Peace group show in NY (2006). I will put these photos below that show Bast and Aiko at the opening night. I purchased it from the Bast website that was run by Blue Collar Rae (this was before the brooklynite gallery and before he became an artist) at that time in 2007. I have up-loaded the photo of the artwork that was on the westsite. The last photo is the canvas being packed on the floor in the Bast studio.

Bast Faces on Paper 

Below is a collection of Bast's faces artworks that appeared on the streets of London and New York in the early 2000s. Including this fantastic piece that "Discerning Eye" managed to salvage from a pizza shop. I have included their memories of how they came to get this artwork.







"His stuff was everywhere in the lower east side when I lived there. I used to walk by this pizza joint every day on my way to the subway. It was under construction and had this makeshift plywood door and one day it was covered with Bast  faces. So I asked them if I could have it when they were done. When they replaced the temporary plywood door with a real one, they gave it to me instead of tossing it. I love it and have had it up for years. Not a day goes by that I don't look at it and remember the art scene of the early 2000s in nyc. Good times. RIP Basto"

Bast's Pizzoli Print

I'm not sure if Bast collectors knew that there were 2 different versions of the Pizzoli print? The first two pictures below show the version that was sold on the Bast website (?) and the second version is the one that Lazarides sold at the Greek Street gallery.

The forth picture is the Lazarides display taken in the gallery. If the above is not right then please let me know.

Also if anyone want to sell either version to me please let me know.

You are probably right? What is the size of your print? Is the edition number low or high?

I came across this picture of Bast's Lady Ooze which is in a different colourway I'm not sure if this is a print  or someone has just edited the original colour to this? I have placed the original picture below. If you have  this print or have any information on please let us know. Thanks.

Thanks for keeping this thread and Bast’s legacy alive Skiner Jack. 🙏🏻

Pizzoli was my first Bast print. Bought it from POW in 2009 for my 30th birthday. Was told by Dora that there where two different versions. One plainer/print version and one hand finished which shows in both the background and in the signature.

The print version is only signed in pencil while the hand finished ones such as mine is signed with both pencil and marker (at least mine which you can see here:

Also, it’s correct that they differ in size. As always Bast took what he had in terms of inventory. Believe both mine and my friends prints are black painted a tergo/on the back side.

Noticed now that my friends print also have a hand finished background. So probably a mixed edition overall despite having a signature in pencil or not.

I just had a look at mine again. I'm quite sure mine does not have a hand painted background, as mine seams more light in color than the ones your photos. Also, there's no brushstrokes etc.

One of the reasons I think mine is trimmed after printing is that on the left side, its like you can see part of something written with pencil:

I was looking ar some old Bast photos I have on a old computer and came across this Video 6 picture that Blue Collar Rae sent me. Originally this was called video 8 as this file is saved as that.

Does anyone know anything about this large Bast canvas that was on show at the Newcastle upon Tyne Lazrides Gallery around 2007? The items details, did it sell and how much for?

These Instagram reel screen shots were from the Bast account and show a number of old barrels that have been painted by Mike. I think they are located at the Coney island pier. By the look of it there are more than 4 of them.

I love all the recent Bast image posts. I can think of a couple of large original works I'd like to see surface and know where they ended up. One in particular was probably 5ft by 5ft black and white work on paper. Anyway, I'm having trouble with seeing large images on this new forum format. The menu at the top of the page takes up 1/4 of the screen so I can only see the images partially by scrolling through them.

Shrada is correct.  Pic below from Skinback.... That site had a sick Snake Charmer beat loop at intro... Switched between two screens.

I always read that as Strada (Street).
It's a shame the site is no longer running.
