Get what you can get, bruva. IMO, you've earned the right to try and make a ROI on atleast 1 of your pieces.

shepard fairey - johnny cash hpm on wood, by Photoxtc on Jun 15, 2010 23:21:07 GMT 1, first off, congrats on the new Banksy!!!
One of the great things about this venture/hobby/passion or whatever you want to call it, is our taste develop and mature as we go along and I have enjoyed watching Neil's walls change over the years (many others on here as well)... I've also been guilty of buying art and selling other pieces to pay for it, it's actually a great way to pay for something you like better...
We're always going to have forum watchdogs and most are guilty of standing on that black kettle they call a soapbox... I can think of a few in particular that come to mind of late

shepard fairey - johnny cash hpm on wood, by Harveyn on Jun 15, 2010 23:32:40 GMT 1, Guys whilst I really do appreciate the words of support I have to accept this was grave misjudgment on my behave. Whilst it was not my intention to buy the Shep to sell I have to admit that is what happened. I cannot be anymore honest than that.
The piece is not for sale so please no pms.
I will post pictures of the Banksy and then be a little more considerate and careful about my posts with respect to how they might come across.

The pics of people's art on their walls is one of my favorite parts of this forum. I'm always interested to see how people integrate their artwork into the design of their homes. You have a great looking home and an AMAZING art collection...please don't stop posting the pics!

shepard fairey - johnny cash hpm on wood, by Baurmann Gallery on Jun 30, 2010 8:08:28 GMT 1, >>>But when you get a new piece its sometime hard to resist. I should try harder I guess. <<< I'd prefer you (and anyone else with the urge) reconsider and not resist as I enjoy looking at photos of work that moves others. I like to think that most people are drawn to this hobby first for a love of the art and can well appreciate the situation you now find yourself in (buying a bit too much art too quickly). I'm guilty of it once a year at least. Further, I was just made aware of the wonderful artist, j. geddes, that stenev uses for their avatar over on WK because someone appreciated it. These forums would be far less interesting without people posting photos of art that has grabbed their soul for whatever reason. I suspect you already know this from experience but I've found that with a bit of hindsight, the pieces I've reached for and gone art poor in the short term tend to be among the faves of the collection long term.
Lee,
It' funny you mentioned Jeremy Geddes...honestly, anyone I have shown his work too and asked their opinion on have just been blown away. Seeing you say good things things is great, as it's another person's taste in art (I've always respected) giving some great feedback on some new/different artists.
Hope you, life and your collecting/collection are good!!!
