Over the past few months EVERY obey purchase I have made has come with a large Import Tax charge.....approx 50% of the actual print cost....

....It is making me think of stopping buying Obey prints.

..I have written to Obey with these concerns....has anyone else had issues like this too? Has anyone else written to obey too?

Yes - its a nightmare
Its because they have now switched to UPS, and worse, UPS want cash when they deliver
I wrote to Obey asking to switch back to USPS, but they said I was only only complainer
They can do nothing about the tax, but they CAN do something about the shipping agent.
With the increase shipping costs with UPS and import duties and the clearance fee to UPS a $45 print now costs close to £80!!

I'm not enjoying these charges either. International buyers get a raw deal.

I ship many item international from the states and ONLY use USPS for outside the US.

Everything else is really a joke.

I have been stung with stuff sent through USPS too. It gets caught up at Parcel Force who extort the usual handling fee. Not sure what the answer is.

Maybe if enough of us write/email and complain...Obey might change back?

To what? Usps? Not sure that will help as usps gets intercepted by parcelforce who levy the tax and handling fee. I think all you can do is check the tax/duty to make sure you have not been charged too much

USPS/parcelforce had a better "miss" rate in my experience - was a gamble whether you got customed or not + they had a lower handling charge
UPS gets me every time and wants me to pay COD
