An opening reception will be held at the BLDG on April 15, 7:00-11:00 PM at the BLDG, 30 West Pike Street, Covington, Kentucky.

We couldn't have Vhils in our town with a little souvenir. Enjoy!

The pieces are still getting the finishing touches added to them. Vhils has an opening tomorrow in the gallery so the studio has been insane. I'll try and post something as soon as possible.

The BLDG is pleased to announce the release of urban contemporary art phenom Vhils, latest work. During his two week residency at the BLDG, Vhils created these limited edition relief etchings on wood, titled "Fading Remains". Each multi-dimensional piece is produced on varying types of wood and hand embellished with ink and bleach by Vhils. As a result of this process the pieces range in color and each one is unique. BLDG, any more info/background on this piece (can't quite make out the writing), where this is and whay this image/text?

(IMO) That is a VERY reasonable price for a Vhils Laser etching. There won't be much difference between each piece as being 'unique' given they are editioned, but still very good when you consider what his prints at POW cost and what his originals go for.

The image is pretty typical Vhils. Just normal everyday people that he meets and interacts with. As far as each piece being unique they actually are. Because each piece of wood was a different type you get a different reaction when the surface layer is removed. They look pretty awesome!

agree #2. i was really excited to see this piece but just couldn't get past the face - i find it very aggressive. still, it seems like a beautifully executed piece and very different!

...agree completely, these look fantastic, great execution and I love the type layer too, but I do find the male faces a bit dark and 'stary' on the wall... I have three vhils pieces up, 2x Laz prints and the Studiocromie perspex one... all females

BLDG, I am familiar with Vhils work and just wondered if that was a particular place in the background or reason for using this face behind this particular piece. And from your 2nd pic, totally see how these are unique. Lovely work. Thanks again.

what you mean like the edition of 10, each one unique that POW did last year?
