Orange creams are also nice - but not available due to the high number fo E numbers within them!

..the sponge is not as soft, therefore more like the 'original' Jaffa Cakes..delightful..

Cakes, as a rule, are soft to begin with and go hard when they are exposed to air.
Biscuits, on the other hand, generally start life hard and gradually go soft.
Jaffa Cakes follow the pattern of the former, so I would therefore conclude that they are definitely cakes.

I believe that they were limited to only 500 of each flavour, and the chocolate was a different colour depending on where you bought it. UK Brown, Europe white and US Grey.
But then then McVities found out that lots of people wanted them and then made more of them including an orange one.
