Some new eelus action.., by dmandpenfold on Apr 4, 2007 21:29:30 GMT 1, some news on E's site
"04 April 2007 Greetings one and all! Sorry for the lack of action on the site so far this year, things have been mental here at the Eel cave but things will be changing in a big way very soon.
Coming soon… A brand new site, brand new prints, brand new canvas and some brand new muck on the streets.
Coming even sooner… Wotulookin-at prints will be released one colour at a time starting at the end of this month. Watch this space!
I’ll also be painting at the Planet Patrol night at Cargo on Thur 3rd May. Hope to see you there for a beer! Click the flyer for more details."

Any guesses or informed insight on the new prints?

Some new eelus action.., by Strange Al on Apr 4, 2007 21:42:18 GMT 1, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Eelus has up his sleeve. I think the man has real skills with the spraygun. The question is, does he have the concepts to match his craftsmanship?
I won't be surprised if we see "Lip" and "Painter", which he sprayed at Nuart 06, as his next prints. Though, that's a pure guess. They've been discussed before and the feedback is generally good. I'm therefore thinking he may go with those. Then again after bowing to people pressure on the Star Wars stuff and which in the end did him no favours, he may go for something totally new. I kind of hope so!

Some new eelus action.., by dmandpenfold on Apr 4, 2007 21:49:41 GMT 1, agreed it would be good to see some fresh work on a new theme and give a bit of depth to the work he has for sale
naturally he's got the remaining wotulookin at prints to go out, i reckon there's about 70 or so of those left after seeing some of the numbers for the pre-release prints given to punters who missed shat-at (#83 is the highest i've seen)

Some new eelus action.., by Strange Al on Apr 4, 2007 22:06:46 GMT 1, I actually really love the star wars stuff and have Shat-at, Wotu-Lookin-at and Chew Barber. They make me chuckle and remind me of my childhood (deja-vu - I posted the same thing the other day).
It'll be interesting to see how quickly the remaining Wotu-lookin-ats are sold. You can currently pick up an Eelus print in the secondary market at pretty much cost price. Will the baggers bother?

Agreed - I think his next few prints will really determine whether he's accepted.
Though, it's a pity - he's been a victim of his own success. He's received a lot of criticism on the forums recently and in my opinion often unfairly. OK- the multiple colourways did make it look like he was milking the images. Though, other than the first couple - he was pretty open about the fact there were going to be more colourways to come. And, it's not like we can't all name other artists who have done similar things with their editions

Agreed, the lip one would be cool.

"Hey people.
Good point Macdee, ebay is way too flooded and it's doing me no favours really, but I'm working on putting an end to people buying purely to make a quick quid on t'ebay. At the end of the day though there's only so much you can do.
As I said on eelus.com there are lots of new things in the pipeline to get things moving again this year. The success of the star wars 'trilogy' has been a bit of a double edged sword really as the prints and canvas have kept me so unbelievably busy there's been very little time to do anything else. So once Wotulookin-at is out the door, Star Wars will finally be dead and buried and things will move on in lots of different directions.
From may onwards, the rest of the year will be completely dedicated to developing new work and getting things outside again as this has been completely neglected due to the madness of the last 8 months or so.
Thanks to everyone for their support and patience so far, I hope you continue to like the stuff.
Now get outside, enjoy the sun and dont forget to check out Dan Witz at Stolen Space tonight.
bEelzibub."

Shat-At and Chew-Barber retailed at £50 a pop.
As with so many prints these days, there was a mad scramble when Eelus released the final colourways of Shat-at and Chew-barber on his website. Consequently, his website melted and he took cash for far too many orders. Though nice chap that he is, rather than refunding people he offered first refusal on the Wot-u-lookin at the £50 price. I believe when the remainder are released later this month they're going to be £75.

I always liked the Eelus prints and I think she'll love the Wot-u-lookin.
