Nick Walker at Randall Scott Gallery Washington, by Art-el on Apr 13, 2007 16:03:12 GMT 1, Just a heads up for our friends across the water. Bristol graffiti pioneer is currently exhibiting by invite at the Randall Scott Gallery, Washington, DC.
Titled The Living Room runs from 11th Apr – 9th May
RSG asked UK based stencil legend Nick Walker to create a limited edition of Ghetto Ghost. He decided on an edition of 30, 20 of which he would send to the US. We expected a wonderful edition, with stencil and paint, a little raw, but that is its appeal. What we received in the post was something completely different... Nick had created an entire edition around the theme of the Ghetto Ghost, a lone figure carrying a ghetto blaster. While the figure is fairly constant in each print, everything else is entirely unique. He went and made an entire edition of ORIGINALS. We were blown away. Each one is amazing. Totally subverted the idea of the edition and we love it. We were going to just show one and then send them out in order #1-20 as a you get the next one in line, but decided to post them all here and let you choose. They are all equally spectacular and these are highly collectable. So, first come first serve. Ghetto Ghost 2007 Limited edition of 30 Acrylic Paint on Recycled Archival Paper 19"x25" Signed on the back Artist logo stamp and edition number on front $500
Also featuring the work of Joe Biel Julia Fullerton-Batten Charles LaBelle Erika Larsen Cara Ober Manuel Ocampo Ruby Osorio www.randallscottgallery.com
