Lance's Giro bike - Shepard Fairey Madone frame, by bristolboy on May 15, 2009 11:44:35 GMT 1, Here is the bike Lance Armstrong is riding in the Giro (he's currently 25th) Im not a great fan of Trek bikes or Lance but thought some of you may appreciate Shepard Fairey's touches.
Back to the Giro Im tipping Ivan Basso or Levi Leipheimer for the maglia rosa.

Cycling is possibly the dirtiest sport going, even way ahead of MMA (Sorry if i burst any bubbles)

Lance's Giro bike - Shepard Fairey Madone frame, by bristolboy on May 15, 2009 15:18:33 GMT 1, Why should I laugh at wanting a sport I love to be clean? I didnt imply cycling was clean only that id like it to be. It was a short answer as to why I dont like Lance.

Lance's Giro bike - Shepard Fairey Madone frame, by veralynn on May 15, 2009 15:45:46 GMT 1, Given the sport of cycling is riddled with performance enhancing drugs, then I can't rationalise why you wouldn't like Lance?
His acheivement on a bike is huge, more so due to his battle with cancer - on top of this he's used his fame to raise $mio's through his livestrong campaign, personally I doft my cap to him.

err you need to do some reading ! sorry to say lance armstrong is the biggest cheat cycling has ever seen , he has not been prosecuted cos of what he represents ie cancer survivor and is sponsored by nike , who were nowhere in cycling until lance came along ie $$$$$$$$$$ for TDF etc ...... it is well documented armstrong worked with the biggest doping doctor in the sport , all his other clients have been banned just not lance which is quite odd ? also some superhuman performances against riders who spoke out against doping and grassed others somewhat proved he is on drugs . ask great riders like greg lemond what they think of lance , lances "people" threatened lemond for speaking out .
read BAD BLOOD for a insight ......

Lance's Giro bike - Shepard Fairey Madone frame, by veralynn on May 15, 2009 17:41:52 GMT 1, errr, I don't need to do some reading, what a crass thing to say - you misunderstood my post.
Pro cycling is riddled with performance enhancing drugs from top to bottom (70%?) and it has been alleged that Lance is part of that. I accept that allegation. I am sure also that the sport is not saturated and for those who are 'clean' any cheat's success must be galling, Basso and Ulrich being allowed back in? Why? Notwithstanding this Lance has raised a great deal of money for cancer charities. This shouldn't be the mitigant for ASO or others turning a blind eye but...
The who I ride with on Sunday morning take performance enhancers with them in the form of energy gels to 'get them home' if they are knackered with 20 miles to go.
Do agree also that Trek bikes aren't all they're cracked up to be, I ride an Argon 18 and love it.

Sorry BB, I did not mean to offend at all, i used the wrong words
I too love the sport to the bones, with or without PED's. I think too many people think if you jump on PED's suddenly it all becomes easier
IIRC Lance is the most tested cyclist ever and is officially clean, i have massive respect for each and everyone of the riders clean or not
Back on topic the bike needs to be red, as red is officially the fastest colour

No need to apologise mate I probably should have answered your question fully instead of being lazy. As for red being the fastest colour im not so sure, I ride a red specialized tarmac and after 80 miles this morning I was anything but fast ;D

Lance's Giro bike - Shepard Fairey Madone frame, by curiousgeorge on May 16, 2009 15:59:24 GMT 1, 80 miles in one morning! Pah! That can't be done 'naturally' in one morning
How long does the endorphin high last after 80 miles in the saddle?

Lance's Giro bike - Shepard Fairey Madone frame, by bristolboy on May 16, 2009 17:55:18 GMT 1, Oh the high lasts a long time, I felt fresh though and I was straight into my trainers for an 8 mile run after. Its fair to say my legs are now tender and I slept all the way through todays giro stage, I will still be grinning like a mad man well into the evening though. I only have 2 months untill I tackle my first ironman so the training is getting pretty intense now, though as painfull as it may sound im loving every minute. Apart from the lake swimming, that is too cold.

Lance's Giro bike - Shepard Fairey Madone frame, by andrewd on May 16, 2009 20:54:50 GMT 1, I have resisted the temptation to do a tri in July but have just bought a carbon frame racer and I am enjoying cranking up the miles. Did 40 on Friday and I am building it up 7 miles at a time ( laps of Richmond Park ) I aim to do 3 or 4 100's this summer. Lots of respect to clean pro athletes. Lance is a legend even if he did have a hissy fit about a wet mountain descent yesterday.
