I know it's an offest litho', but it's an open edition of an image which was sold as a limited edition. I think it's a bit cheeky myself. But I guess Obey's more committed fans (because I am def' a fan of some of his work) are not overly fussed with the integrity of the original edition, as this seems to have been pretty well received by the majority. The mitigatibg factor appears to be that there are so many Obey limited edition screenprint collectors, that the market for the screenprint version should remain strongly supported, regardless of this release of the open edition version. While I can understand that logic (if it's true) and this does boggle my brain a little (it's bonkers innit??), I don't think it's the point. Having said that, for $35 or whatever it is, if I liked it enough to hang, I guess I'd still buy it!
Imagewise it beats plenty of his other work imo, but I don't think it's his best work.
