Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by schlomo on Feb 2, 2010 14:25:20 GMT 1, I think you're lucky there is now a 20 word minimum for replying to ebay threads, otherwise i think a few people would be posting one word descriptive terms for you.....
Four posts, all about this, thanks for being a valid part of this forum. chief.

Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by schlomo on Feb 2, 2010 16:24:25 GMT 1, i hadnt got sarky yet pal, am happy to do so tho.
As it is obvious you intend to be an active, useful member of this forum, and you are in no way just a money grabbing leach who has decided to register on here to try and sell a bit of rubbish to real fans and collectors, allow me to welcome you with open arms, and declare your 'banksy street piece' a true collectors item worth tens of pennies, a must for any scabby collector of useless bits of crap without any possibilty of a COA, and with basically no possible ties to Banksy other than 'something that used to look like this, which this may be, but might not be, and will never be proven to be either one way or the other, might have, or might not have, been in the place seen in a banksy book, which was done originally by Banksy 5 years ago, but has til now been in a mysterious cave full of 'orignal' banksy artwork and for some reason looks like it was went at with a hammer'.....
great to see, thanks a bundle.
edit: and as for wasting my time, i've got all day matey.

Whilst that's basically all true, (there's no way of knowing now, nor will there ever be, whether it's "that" wheel clamp or not) - if the guy is telling the truth (particularly about his cousin's cancer) then you can't really blame him for trying to sell it. And if he's lying then I'm sure he secretly knows he needs to get a life already...

Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by schlomo on Feb 2, 2010 17:16:26 GMT 1, I don't have a problem with anyone trying to sell anything on ebay, what i do have a problem with is people coming on here with the sole intention of trying to make money out of Banksys name, and not contributing to the forum in anyway other than this type of sales thread.
I couldnt comment on the cancer issue as have not read anything posted by this guy about it. I am basing my comments on the tat he is selling. OBVIOUSLY if it is a sale to raise as much money as possible for cancer research, or for treatment of an ill family member, then I wish him all the best and hope as much money as possible can be raised. Personally i could think of a number of other ways to raise money that don't include selling rubbish, and having been an active fund raiser for cancer research and for various other charities over the years, I would be more than happy to discuss BETTER ways of raising money with him by pm.
Thats my final comment, ive probably had too much coffee today.

Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by snausages on Feb 2, 2010 17:30:13 GMT 1, Don't really understand why forums react so negatively to someone searching them out to provide an item for sale that may be of interest to its inhabitants. If you're not interested, let other people decide for themselves, someone may really want it? We're all adults and have the ability to parse motives, risk, desire etc. Thanks

Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by homeagreyhound on Feb 2, 2010 17:47:40 GMT 1, 'That guy' is a she and I have found this whole forum thing quite a shock. I dont need help on fundraising thanks,I am already a trustee of several animal charities and know exactly how to raise money and awareness for those in need. I am well aware COA is impossible for 'Street Art' as Pest Control were the first people I contacted but that doesnt mean that every similar Banksy piece is worthless (and Im not just talking in monetary terms). In my opiniuon,to have thrown this on the skip (where it was destined) would be a crime-pieces like this are part of Britains history and I am well aware it is only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay it which well be nothing at all and that's fine. If however someone out there feels it would be a nice thing to own then that is up to them. Yes,I only have my word that this is genuine and my cousin (who incidently IS fighting cancer, not something I had wished to have bandied about however I wanted to explain the reason for sale) can produce proof of his many years working cleaning the statues in London. As he is having treatment,I am doing my best to let those that may be interested in Banksy's work (which like it or not, does include unique and light hearted items like this) know that this is available at Auction-It is a one off and if I were a collector,I would find this piece of interest. I'm not here to have a slanging match and as far as I knew forums were about people helping/advising eachother with mutually shared interests ,not ramming their opinions down other peoples throats in an exceptionally rude & aggressive manner without being asked

Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by schlomo on Feb 2, 2010 18:38:07 GMT 1, Dude, (both a female and male general term in my vocab), I apologise for being a little full on. I personally hate to see things like this for sale but that shouldnt excuse me acting like an idiot and venting my frustration openly. (coffee, my second biggest vice, is a silly thing)
My offer still stands of helping to raise money for your cousin, and as i did say above, I hope it raises alot of money for a very worthy cause.

Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by snausages on Feb 2, 2010 20:18:08 GMT 1, If faked, this person did a good job of faking it years ago and then put it away to let it rust and flake away naturally. Or they did an extremely meticulous faking now to match the fade and wear of the metal. ---- On the other hand it's a good reminder that things like this will waste away and rust to nothing in time. I'm surprised PC didn't offer to take this off the market though, it's not your ordinary piece of removed wall, but maybe even they couldn't determine it's authenticity? I wouldn;t mind having it as a nice relic, but I don't want to pay postage to NA.
But good luck to you.

Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by homeagreyhound on Feb 2, 2010 20:48:55 GMT 1, I only really asked Pest Control about authenticity as they didnt know we were thinking of selling and that was when they told me they couldnt do that with 'Street Art'. It has got bashed about being in the lock up unfortunately-had my cousin have realised its importance at the time-he would have made sure it was kept somewhere a lot safer! Its off the floor and wrapped up now so theres no reason for it to sustain any further damage thankfully.

Banksy Street Art Wheel Clamp Boudiccas Chariot 05, by homeagreyhound on Feb 4, 2010 14:43:05 GMT 1, I know, its SO frustrating as I know it IS genuine however Pest Control cannot verify any non commercial work of Banksy's-I cannot change that unless someone out there has access to CCTV cameras from 2005-there must have been some trained on Boudicca over those 12 days!? All I can do is provide the proof that my cousin was employed in London cleaning statues at that period if thats any help & my ebay & feedback history is good-I am not a dealer or con artist and any more proof than that Im afraid is impossible. I think its a really exciting piece and hopefully the person who wins it will appreciate it and look after it better than it has been so far!
