Xenz Show at Forster Gallery, by Imoy-San on Nov 1, 2007 19:26:50 GMT 1, If you are thinking about going to the show, please do!!!
The pieces are awesome.
I picked up another gold original. They are on wood, reclaimed metal and I think there may be a canvas.
I know the prints are a bit expensive, but a 15 screen print? Yup, especially with a low edition - 50.
There's an awesome piece that starts on the wall, covers a canvas and flows off the canvas again. It's an installation job. Xenz will come and install it for you, creating the same effect in your home! Bespoke or what?

Xenz Show at Forster Gallery, by Imoy-San on Nov 1, 2007 19:30:52 GMT 1, I went there for the "gold / birds" pieces. The futurescapes now have a new dimension to them.
I sneaked these pictures.
My piece is near the doorway and couldn't get my camera out...

Xenz Show at Forster Gallery, by doughy on Nov 1, 2007 22:20:18 GMT 1, Thanks for posting Yomster, the last one left side is now mine, Yippeee!!!!! Can now show the wifey!
Also bought the prints too.
There are several separate pieces as you can see which work extremley well as Tryptichs too. Nice to see work that doesn't overtly push the social / political debates many artists do.
Excellent show, worth going to if you are passing, small and neat.

Perhaps, but I have found that what you see on a web page, and what a picture is like in the flesh are two completely different things.
I didn't really like the Andrew Mcattee stuff on their website, but after seeing them in the flesh, they are soooooo much better than you realise.

Oh I think everything is better when you see it in the flesh the first time. Sort of like my first girlfriend!
So you think the prints are some of the stronger images from the show?

Xenz Show at Forster Gallery, by robo on Nov 2, 2007 0:07:52 GMT 1, The Xenz show is great - beautiful work. The Spring prints are awesome in the flesh (better than they look online) and I'm very pleased with mine. Rich gold background, lots of detail, green splattering and if you look from an angle, very delicately, you can just about see a large Xenz tag behind the gold. I like classic Chinese / Japanese landscape paintings and he's really re-interpreted that style in a refreshing way that contrasts with the urban landscape where his work is found. (Oo-er sounding like an art critic
Met the man himself, and he was lovely.

Xenz Show at Forster Gallery, by goodbyekitty on Nov 2, 2007 12:47:19 GMT 1, I've been trying to phone all morning to get the 'three's a crowd' prints. No answer though, just left a message. I really want them, absolutly love Xenz. Watching him work was one of the coolest things I've ever seen!

Xenz Show at Forster Gallery, by goodbyekitty on Nov 2, 2007 13:18:22 GMT 1, OK. Thanx manchestermike. I'm off to work in a couple of hours, might try and catch them on the way. Been waiting for them for ages and I obviously caught the Mr in a good mood last night who told me to "just get them!". It's not often we agree on prints we like!

Xenz Show at Forster Gallery, by craigf on Nov 2, 2007 13:48:04 GMT 1, I also went yesterday and was really impressed by the majority of the work. There were some painted bird ornaments that I found a challenge to like (read that as you will) and I am not so much into his futuristic city / building pictures, but the rest of the stuff was pretty awesome. I ummed and ahhed about the framed print above, but decided it didn't really go with my decor and I had spent enough recently.
The prices for the originals started at ยฃ750+VAT which I thought was pretty good. There was one I would have been v tempted to buy if not already snapped up!
