I was there today - the guy that won the Banksy was genuinely surprised - I think everyone was pleased he won it! The stampede when the Pinata broke was insane! I stood back for fear of loosing a leg!!

hey grafik i would ignore the voices in your head then as its the print for next week.

they handed everyone one raffle ticket for a banksy print and drew it out,
first prize date farmers t shirt,
2nd prize date farmers print,
3rd prize banksy print.

i guess they must have changed it from yesterday, as it was one ticket each, and just sweeties and some bling handcuffs and a paintbrush! in the pinata. but maybe they didnt communicate the change from yesterday.

the staff were great with my little girl and a lot of the guys and girls around gave her loads of sweets from the pinata. so she was happy!!

went down today and was proper chuffed for the guy that won- seemed like a really nice guy and really happy! if you go down to POW check out the tea towels- they are wicked, i got 1 of each!

Possibly the best post of all time on this forum - if 'grown-ups' were pushing a 4 year old around in the vain attempt at increasing their own chances of winning something then quite frankly, POW should be ashamed of themselves for hosting an event that might generate this kind of behavior.

Wholly irrelevant imo - it's up to them to 'control' their venue and the numbers therein. The directors and shareholders of POW should be aware that should an accident happen, just because thier company is called Pictures on Walls Ltd, does not releive them of personal liability. Sounds like a bloody shambles to me, like a bunch of students playing at art dealers.

hmmm, yeah not the best event, my wife who was carrying our a 13 month old son with her was barged by some rather enthusiastic p*ss head pr*ck who seemed to think the sweets that came out were made of gold. The way to have done it would be to have announced that the raffle was for the banksy and other goods, the pinata was just a bit of fun. In all fairness I think the guy did get chucked out but like people have said certain others at the event should be ashamed.

As such, leave the kids at home so adults can be adults, whatever that may denote... or, if you choose to bring the kids along, deal with it. You knew what you were getting into... It's a Holiday Open House at POW with a new Banksy to be had, for f**ks sake...

I think some of these comments are really rather moronic, why do people condone hurting someone else so they can just potentially might get hold of a Banksy piece.

I know this is nowhere near as extreme but it reminds me of a story last year on Black Friday in America where they have crazy sales and an employee got trampled to death by the urge of the customers because they wanted to pick up a bargain.

Yes, a number of people were injured that day for the sake of cheap DVD players I think. Very sad indeed.

That said, I do tend to agree with Amsterdam 9697's comment above. While I'm sure those with kids were imagining something akin to last year's open day, this event being in the POW premises meant very limited space. Yes, people should try to behave respectfully to those around them, but it seems that in England there will always be the odd piss-head or 2 that're acting stupid and inconsiderate of others. It's to be expected imo and we who've lived there should bare this in mind when taking our kids out to very busy places. Sad as it may seem, it's a fact of life in the UK imo.

Well done to the fella who scored a free print anyway! What a result he had, lucky bastard!!! Pretty cool of them to give the odd ones away imo.

yes mate i did deal with it, said it was interesting, didnt think i blew it up at all, she had a good time and enjoyed the art and friendly atmosphere..

i thought members here might be interested in the fact that a print was being given away.

its art at the end of the day , not a football match or any other event, its looking at some pictures. to quote "for fucks sake".
