Dreweatts auction Movers, by funster on Jun 17, 2008 15:06:44 GMT 1, I have to admit to having a feeling that prices aren't going to be staggering, although I know that the more prominent pieces have already secured bids.

Dreweatts auction Movers, by Bram on Jun 17, 2008 15:42:26 GMT 1, This will be entertaining but I think things will only get silly if the "real" money turns up. I want those Denning panels but they are going to be out of my league mi thinks!

Dreweatts auction Movers, by lee3 on Jun 17, 2008 15:48:00 GMT 1, I think the auction results will reflect the current economic climate in some ways. I expect everything to hit reserve, healthy amounts of bidding, but people being cautious and there will be none of the big, unexpected results we saw at Bonhams. Just my opinion.
You expect everthing to hit the reserve, in other words not one single lot that gets passed on or bought in? I can't recall off the top of my head ever seeing any auction (i really only keep a close eye on Christie's and Sotheby's post war/contemporary art auctions) in which every single lot sold (at the auction anyway). I would go so far as to have a healthy dose of skepticism of ever dealing with that house if that were the case. From the work that I saw (never in person, only in print), I will be SHOCKED if everything hits the reserve. If that's the case, it would really give me some pause and contemplation as that action would lead me to conclude that this space is just being trampled by speculators. I'd be much more comfortable waiting out a situation like that for 12 months and years from now telling stories of missing out on something (i've got a million as it is) as opposed to recounting the day I was the part of the heard that was the greatest fool.
FWIW, there were two lots that interested me in my price range but I am not bidding at this auction though I look forward to reviewing the results.

Dreweatts auction Movers, by Prescription Art on Jun 17, 2008 15:57:06 GMT 1, I personally can't attach much importance to this auction as I think most of the work in it is pretty rubbish. I'm curious to see how it goes, but if it completely flops I don't think it can be seen as any kind of benchmark... there are very few pieces in it i'd be remotely interested in.

Only IE will work. And it seems the older the better too as my new computers firewall blocks it from working!

I just don't know. I'm interested to see what the London, NY, Bristol brings but that is one of the weakest of the 10 that I've seen (i've seen images of 5 or 6 of the edition) and personally would be surprised to see that particular one bring silly money. The other 2 should do very well, we'll see soon enough....

Dreweatts auction Movers, by Deleted on Jun 17, 2008 17:27:10 GMT 1, what about the NW memory board, i think that is what it is called. Would like to see NW do well. Banksy is the man so will top all. I am hoping Micallef's prices dont jump back up to where they belong, been good all this cheapish AM stuff about.
