Help needed, and a story of life imitating art. . , by HowAboutNo on May 26, 2006 11:12:09 GMT 1, 1sampson, if you are reading this please post a reply or PM me. Thanks! Have seen your "Banksy Search" links and just wanted to find "Girl with Balloon" that you say you saw on East Road, just further on from "Happy Copper" listed on the map as being somewhere near New North Road? (map says looked for but not found")
Have been walking the length and breadth of both roads all this week looking for it, but to no avail. If anyone else can help with some more directions that will be much appreciated.
The life imitating art bit.. in my traipsing the streets in search of this, I found an Eine, which up until now I hadn't bothered to take pics of (mostly because they are all so faded - the shoreditch shop shutter pieces must be almost as old as me as I remember them from a very young age) Stopped to take my first, then look what walks past. . .
And it's a heart shaped balloon too!
If only the little girl had been by herself and a gust of wind had caught the balloon and made it drift away! Then I would have had a live version of my favorite Banksy piece!

Help needed, and a story of life imitating art. . , by havana06 on May 26, 2006 11:55:25 GMT 1, Ha ha! If I laugh will you ban me too? Democracy's last stand is apt! If it makes you feel powerful, ban me! You virtually outed me in a previous thread, so what. How does it feel to be like Bush and Blair now? ......No! I'm only joking! Don't take me away, don't ban me! AARRRGGGGGHHHHHH!

Right, let's see if we can make the grumpy old sod laugh !
George W. Bush meets with the Queen of England. He asks her, "Your Majesty, how do you run such an efficient government? Are there any tips you can give to me?" "Well," says the Queen, "The most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people." Bush frowns. "But how do I know the people around me are really intelligent?" The Queen takes a sip of tea. "Oh, that's easy. You just ask them to answer an intelligence test. Listen to this". The Queen pushes a button on her intercom. "Please send Tony Blair in here, would you?" Tony Blair walks into the room. "Yes, Your Majesty?"
The Queen smiles. "Answer me this, please, Tony. Your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?" Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answers, "That would be me." "Yes! Very good," says the Queen. Back at the White House, Bush asks to speak with Vice President Dick Cheney. "Dick, answer this for me. Your mother and your father have a child. It's not your brother and it's not your sister. Who is it?" "I'm not sure," says the Vice President. "Let me get back to you on that one." Dick Cheney goes to his advisors and asks every one, but none can give him an answer. Finally, he ends up in the men's room and recognizes Colin Powell's shoes in the next stall. Dick shouts, "Colin! Can you answer this for me? Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or your sister. Who is it?" Colin Powell yells back, "That's easy. It's me!" Dick Cheney smiles. "Thanks!" Cheney goes back to the Oval Office to speak with Bush.
"Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle. It's Colin Powell." Bush gets up, stomps over to Dick Cheney, and angrily yells into his face, "No, you idiot! It's Tony Blair!"

Help needed, and a story of life imitating art. . , by HowAboutNo on May 30, 2006 13:14:45 GMT 1, Yay, Found it!
It was on New North Road, further up. Am sure it was logged on map last time as "Looked for it but could not find"? ?
Map is actually very acurate, so ignore me and my moans.
Anyway's, I'm happy now.
