Lady Aiko π―π΅ Aiko Nakagawa β’ New York Street Art, by Simococo on Nov 2, 2007 15:06:01 GMT 1, some of her work is really vivid and spirited, and its only going to get better. I really liked the bunnies at TLSG even if they were a little on the expensive side. She was the force behind Faile's street work and that tells you everything. Its not like she's lost her talent overnight.

Lady Aiko π―π΅ Aiko Nakagawa β’ New York Street Art, by bobbymeachamjr on Nov 2, 2007 16:56:06 GMT 1, It must be hard for her, though. She helped create Faile's style. If she goes off on her own and does the exact same thing, people will hate on her. I'm sure it puts pressure on her to differ herself and possibly hurts the work.
if you have enough creative talent you don't let things like this affect your output...

Lady Aiko π―π΅ Aiko Nakagawa β’ New York Street Art, by bobbymeachamjr on Nov 2, 2007 17:26:01 GMT 1, maybe she worked well with the other guys. Could be one of those things. Her solo stuff is not good. Just my humble opinion. If there was no "faile" associated with her solo stuff she would be getting pennies on the dollar.

Lady Aiko π―π΅ Aiko Nakagawa β’ New York Street Art, by andrewd on Nov 2, 2007 20:24:08 GMT 1, ps The Smiths split up; but that doesn't mean that Marr and Morrisey weren't both talented musicians
What about Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce......
No idea why Aiko split but it seems an odd thing to do with the world starting to open up to what you've been doing for all these years. Faile were cheap as chops last year, large canvasses could be bought from Laz for Β£1,500 and the editions of 10 hand finished prints went for about Β£75 including shipping from the US of A. People were even throwing out Faile stuff, anyone remember the piece of machinery from POW with a large pink Faile tag on it that had been left at the back of POW towers? Good luck to her.

Lady Aiko π―π΅ Aiko Nakagawa β’ New York Street Art, by mike hunt on Nov 2, 2007 21:07:44 GMT 1, Aiko's split from faile reminds me of when Michael Owen left Liverpool and then they won the champions league. Worse still, he was on tv being asked what he thought, and looked absolutely gutted!

Lady Aiko π―π΅ Aiko Nakagawa β’ New York Street Art, by ricosg11 on Nov 2, 2007 21:14:12 GMT 1, The work she did that was similar to a lichtenstein was amazing. I would buy that stuff all day. The bunny and women stencils are very weak in comparison and seem to be the direction she prefers to head. Best of luck to her though.

Lady Aiko π―π΅ Aiko Nakagawa β’ New York Street Art, by mike hunt on Nov 2, 2007 21:35:02 GMT 1, A lot of it is about pr. Its also about believing in yourself when its not working out. Its either about being strong or deluding yourself (depending which side of the fence you are looking from). Lets face it, being an artist is a tough life if you haven't made it. All that time working, you are skint and have no idea if it will work out. Whenever an artist does well, I always feel admiration, even if I dislike their work.

dont have another pic as yet its below the bast in this shot
it looks way more faile to me then any of her other stuff infact in the show was also a piece by her that was the faile girl blowing the smoking gun done on hardboard then the old faile skull tag repeatedly underneath so i think this one too was perhaps done in her faile days
its nice and i may well keep it but given this months spending i may not

With POW already shipping the Faile's, I don' think they'll be releasing anymore Momento Mori's through the Ghetto.
