Blek Le Rat's Obama, by dynamixx on Feb 9, 2009 1:34:07 GMT 1, lol @ sheer stupidity, I just have to bite. If only you knew my friend. A lot of people do like his work, no question about that. A lot of people like a lot of things, that doesn't validate anything.
Instead of calling me a f**ker, why don't you tell us what's so good about Blek? I don't care when he started stenciling by the way, first doesn't always correlate with good.
You should take your Audi A6 and drive out of here dude. "f**ker" indeed! Keep it real. Joker.

Blek Le Rat's Obama, by remirough on Feb 9, 2009 1:35:18 GMT 1, There is no problem with Blek and he was painting at least 10 years before Banksy, so saying that his career is based upon an alleged quote is sheer stupidity. Lots of people like his work. Man every f**ker thinks their an art critic.... lol @ sheer stupidity, I just have to bite. If only you knew my friend. MAte, for a start, I didn't call you a f**ker, I stated that "every f**ker thinks he's an art critic" If you take that as you, that's your problem. but I see people like you posting threads starting with lines like - "Blek's problem is..." With all due respect what gives you the right to judge an artist? And you should care about when he started painting, because that's part of his fabric as an artist. any artist's history is pivotel in who they become and what they do.
Those who can do... and those who can't criticize.

Blek Le Rat's Obama, by dynamixx on Feb 9, 2009 1:49:54 GMT 1, Rough with the smooth my man, most of here are heavy consumers of art, and believe it or not a few of us might be producers that prefer not having a red star, but that's neither here nor there.
What gives anyone the right to criticise anything? If Blek was out there, just hitting the streets still and not totally selling out at every opportunity, I'd be a lot less harsh in my judgement, believe me.
The guy's got a captive market on the back of Banksy, and the likes of this Obama piece, and its price tag are pretty offensive to my tastes. Just my opinion of course, a lot of people love him, if you do too, you shouldn't care about what any haters have to say.
Modified my post above to tidy up all the quoting by the way.

Blek Le Rat's Obama, by mash on Feb 9, 2009 2:03:45 GMT 1, Personally I love the dancer, last tango and to a lesser extent David. The reality is a lot of the art in this scene is well over-priced, imho, but people (myself definatley included) will always extend themselves for stuff they like, unfortunately for Blek and everyone else this piece is total rhubarb.

Blek Le Rat's Obama, by ABC on Feb 10, 2009 17:46:16 GMT 1, Blek is an icon when it comes to street work, but IMO the transfer to canvas loses all depth, very very bland.

Blek Le Rat's Obama, by muks on May 5, 2009 23:45:22 GMT 1, I think most people doing Obama pics these days are acting as oportunists with no much to say in creative terms.
