Grafter charity print,....Update, by bored with screen names on May 21, 2008 17:57:50 GMT 1, OK.....I was waiting for this to happen which is why I took individual photos of each issue.....If you notice in the top part of the pollen mist there is a rather large drop of paint and seeing as each one is individual, I'm pretty sure that if I was to trawl through my pics it wouldn't be too hard to identify. I WILL NAME AND SHAME...!!!! I don't expect eveyone to treasure their print forever and not sell it on, but after only 5 days of them being sent out, this is blatantly taking the piss... I would like the seller to either change the auction so that a % of the money goes to The Make a Wish Foundation or take it down and return it to me so that I can refund them their £50 (which is more than the current high bid) and offer it to one of the 38 people I have on a reserve list who want one. Please have a conscience.....It's all about Kharma, Man GRAFTER

Grafter charity print,....Update, by caswellbay on May 21, 2008 18:04:59 GMT 1, Pretty pointless creating a new ebay account imo, I'm sure we'll find out soon enough. No doubt it'll be bought by someone who's a member here and who I'm sure will be happy to share the number.

Grafter charity print,....Update, by Gurn on May 21, 2008 18:32:47 GMT 1, Now I'm not one to come on here and bad mouth people and cause negativity, but,if I was Grafter, having put in such a special effort on this series,I also would be pretty livid that someone (after just 5days) has sought to profit from this venture..I would also be be pretty miffed, to say the least,if I was one of the 38 that missed out on this and would have treasured it for what it is....A fine work of art,for a fine cause

Don't get me wrong spirit,I personally don't advocate some of the crazy witch hunts that sometimes occurr on here,It isn't MY style...The guy may have a perfectly good reason for this sale, but a percentage to the charity wouldn't go amiss,eh?

Grafter charity print,....Update, by marshman on May 21, 2008 18:41:57 GMT 1, I hope its not F****ing mine! Honestly my mate is collecting my mail from my office as I am away and I am pretty sure in one of the tubes is a nice piece from Grafter and he has been joking about sticking them on ebay...........
Whoever it is really needs to get some advice about their morals cos this is just extracting the urine.

Grafter charity print,....Update, by Grafter on May 21, 2008 18:53:50 GMT 1, GOTCHA......
Due to some sterling work by a fellow forum member and a little look through my hard drive, I have now identified the print for sale. I really hope that this will now be the end of this matter.

Completely agree with you Gurn - although my post followed yours my comment didn't relate to your post at all - I think it's shameful to have this charity print on the bay so quick and goes completely against the grain of what it was all about. Personally I think Grafter is being very generous when he only asks him to give an unspecified percentage of the sale to charity in return for not being outed. If it was me I'd insist on ALL the money from the sale going to charity.

Grafter charity print,....Update, by slowmo on May 21, 2008 21:55:38 GMT 1, Interesting, so when is long enough? The charity donation was grafters (and he has and should be saluted for it), not whoever bought it surely? Grafter put these up effectively on behalf of the charity to raise funds, once bought, what right does anyone have to pass judgement on what they choose to do with it?
I have no opinion on whether its right or wrong what happened here, but does anyone know why they put it up for sale? Maybe they didnt like it when they got it, maybe they need some money themselves, maybe they wanted to make a profit? Any which way they bought this print, its theirs to do with as they please isn't it?
No one gets flamed for selling flag by Banksy? Its a charity print too? So how long is long enough before someone can sell?

Grafter charity print,....Update, by Grafter on May 21, 2008 22:15:04 GMT 1, I have no problem in anyone selling on the piece. All I wouild like to see is that any secondary sale is done so in the spirit of which it was made. I did consider marking the back of every print to say that it was a charity print and that I would hope that anyone selling it on would respect the ethos of the piece and donate a % from any subsequant sale. In the end I decide not to do that as I respect this forum and it's members and believed that everyone who had supported me in this project had done so with the 'cause' in mind and didn't need to be dictated to. I'm also very aware that some people probably bought the print not because they particually liked it, but because they wanted to support the charity in question. There were also many people who wanted to add their support but sadly missed out on the chance to do so.
There is nothing wrong with making a profit, but I just feel that to do so in this case would be a kick in the teeth to so many well meaning contributions from many people on this forum.
Thank you for your continued support

Hey mate, first up, you know I love your work and I massively respect what you done. But you have to be realistic about this, they bought your print primarily, the donation was definitely secondary, or else all those people not liking the image would have just put a donation of the same amount to the charity if they truly appreciated the cause.
Simple truth is, you have closed the edition, you have done cans, it was liked and people trumpeted your work there, as indeed did I, people are also beginning to cut your work out of walls!!!! So if someone got your print and decided hey I don't want this, why should they not have the choice to make a profit? Like I said, I understand why you personally would be disappointed because you done this for charity, but you cannot expect or hope that on re-sale people will do as you done.

Yeah a little bit, but to be honest mate, you have made a fantastic donation through your work, so keep that taste in your mouth, as I would expect if you keep going the way you are in terms of your work improving, you can expect to see more of these on there soon.
BTW on a lighter note, your billboard mans legs are still far too short!!! ;D

I agree soooo much! I understand being pissed off, but damn one you sell it, its yours! Its art. Make it, let it go. If idiots get hold of it, there is nothing you can do. But, if they actually have it in their hands, even though most may not like it, it is there's. Charity or non. Theres to do what they like. The way of the world.

Grafter charity print,....Update, by newmang on May 22, 2008 0:01:09 GMT 1, Great canvas Grafter, really love this apart from the first finger that doesnt look like it belongs. Once I'd seen it in the close-up it dominated the canvas, even more so than the red flower.
