Insect Private View......., by Gallery Grace on Sept 11, 2008 17:51:19 GMT 1, Those skulls are amazing all slightly different with gold teeth, diamond teeth, braces and fangs. If you are going; check out Paulβs ''The Fall Can Be So Easy'', certainly the prize piece of the show IMO.

Insect Private View......., by ihate69 on Sept 11, 2008 17:53:05 GMT 1, PRESS INFO:
Twelve Playboy bunny inspired, bronze skeletal sculptures, by the cult artist Paul Insect, form the backbone of an exhibition at London's Lazaridges gallery. The Playmates presented in the 'Poison' exhibition are hardly the fantasy calender girls of our dreams but instead a savage comment on sexuality in the consumer age.

Insect Private View......., by senna on Sept 12, 2008 0:17:11 GMT 1, really enjoyed the show: some great work. Fresh. Not just a derivative like a lot of the s**te out there masquerading as art/ists. shows his diversity, yet you know its a Paul insect...
Everything was extremely well executed. the attention to detail was top notch : stiletto bones on the bunny girl table ;D perfect dentistry, that beautiful rare wood, the bronze skulls(only knew that 'coz it says so in the price list, otherwise you'd swear they were regular bone skulls). the bunny ears looked like they were made of a velvety material, but they're bronze too.
the venue was great. plenty of room to stand back & appreciate it all
great turn out
cheers Paul!
cheers Laz

Insect Private View......., by Zippy on Sept 12, 2008 0:58:37 GMT 1, Senna sums it up very well. I have not always been a big Insect fan but he has grown as an artist and the work was great. A lot of the regulars there. Good to see you all. Most importantly, there were prices for everyone. The table was 55k, the Skulls Β£18 (I think) but you could buy prints at Β£400 and lovely silkscreens onto aluminium for 1k and 1.5k. Then the serious canvases were Β£15k + Location was perfect. More space than the usual Laz shows, not due to less people but as there were 3 rooms and an outside area. If yo can get down to London in the next week, its really worth going to see. 5 mins walk from Kings X and St Pancras so perfect location for anyone not in London whose thinking of travelling up or down for it. Well done Paul and Laz, great show and thank you.

Insect Private View......., by ejvaze on Sept 12, 2008 2:18:47 GMT 1, I agree with Zippy re prices and Senna really sums up the show well.
My young guest tonight thought the show was superb. And was over the moon to meet and talk to Paul someone whose work he has admired for a long time.
It goes without saying I also thought the work was superb and loved the explosion of colour.
Thought 'The Fall Can be so Easy No1' and 'Star Eyes' were both lovely.
I'd like to say Well Done Paul and thank you
Oh Mr LAZ the Venue is Superb, I hope you'll be using it again for future shows
