WANTED: Ahmed Alsoudani artwork, by snausages on Dec 18, 2009 2:22:32 GMT 1, Alsoudani? That's so 2009.
You should be chasing Gutheil now, blowing up as a museum bought a painting in Basel!
Saatchi sold his Alsoudani and bought David Ellis in Miami. Chase him!
But seriously, I think you need to get on a waiting list, and have at least $40k to burn, otherwise the print looks pretty nice. $1500 www.goffandrosenthal.com/artist-galleries/ahmed-alsoudani-editions/2292312

WANTED: Ahmed Alsoudani artwork, by James Smith 77 on Dec 18, 2009 2:51:47 GMT 1, I own this one (approx 48" x 36"). Ahmed is an incredible guy and a friend. There are INSANE people collecting his works. All I will say is that the absolute biggest names in art collecting are his customers and his waitlist is nuts. Good luck acquiring a piece. I've known him for a few years and cant get another one.

WANTED: Ahmed Alsoudani artwork, by snausages on Dec 18, 2009 18:09:35 GMT 1, Awesome pick up james, cornerstone of your collection I'd imagine. The show last year in NY was great. Everything was sold or on hold. $40-80k I think?
But try to be patient, I could name several artists I wanted to buy who were new or hot out of an mfa program, bought by saatchi, big museums and blew up. The prices exploded for a couple yrs but almost all have come back down to earth as the initial rush waned, new artists were found to chase, and especially as that artist continued to produce more and more work over the years more pieces became available.

WANTED: Ahmed Alsoudani artwork, by James Smith 77 on Dec 18, 2009 20:35:54 GMT 1, Good advice Snausage. Funny, but I never thought of this as the cornerstone of my collection. This piece is in his book though, which is cool. I guess because I bought it so cheap and a few ago. I'd imagine it's probably appreciated since then.
