Banksy - No ball games, by Deleted on Nov 27, 2009 18:45:52 GMT 1, cgi.ebay.co.uk/No-Ball-Games-Banksy_W0QQitemZ280428333155QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_art_Paintings_GL?hash=item414ad4c863#ht_500wt_975
The artwork attached is an amazing example of this artists work - whos name unfortunately I cannot reveal. Therefore, I would ask you to come to your own conclusion as to who you think is responsible. The artwork was removed from a wall in Paddington, London 2006 and was previously illustrated in a book called, 'Wall and Piece'. Prior to acquiring the artwork, I researched all the relevant press articles relating to it's removal and both the Police & Westminster Council concluded no wrong doing of any consequences had taken place. After I purchased the artwork, an organisation called Pest Control was set-up to authenticate all works created by the artist. On registering and applying for authentication it became apparent street pieces would not be granted provenance even if you could prove the artwork as 101% genuine. This is because the artist may become liable for prosecution. Pest Control's response to my request for provenance read, 'we cannot be sure if the work is by the artist but, any works created not to sell are not classified as works of art'. It has since been authenticated by a number of leading experts in the street art field as genuine, however I fully understand if the potential purchaser needs to seek further professional advice. Viewing is strictly by appointment at the discresion of the vendor only. The artwork is totally unique, its a complete one off and is widely considered to be the most significant work done using this iconic image. Its even been quoted as 'the holy grail of streetpieces', however to maximise exposure and generate initial interest the bidding starts at ยฃ50,000.
