Banksy • Flower Thrower, by lee3 on Oct 29, 2009 21:40:12 GMT 1, Any ideas on the value of a framed Flower Chucker done on cardboard with a tag underneath?
Nice piece! The dimensions of the cardboad itself would be helpful. A unique one (in this format) on canvas recently sold at auction for 46k GBP:
Banksy Title Love is in the air Description Banksy (b. 1975)Love is in the Airstencilled 'BANKSY' (lower right)acrylic More ... Medium acrylic and spray-enamel on canvas Year of Work 2002 Size Height 20.9 in.; Width 18 in. / Height 53.1 cm.;Width 45.7cm. Sale of Christie's London: Wednesday, July 01, 2009 [Lot 00304] Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale Estimate 40,000 - 60,000 BP (65,070 - 97,605 US$) Sold For 46,850 BP (77,438 US$) PREMIUM Currency
I'm guessing the cardboard is smaller than the canvas but really not sure. If the unframed dimensions are similar to the canvas above, I'd say ~ 15-20k. Good luck

May you should think about to hold the piece until the crises is over and/or Brad&Angela have more money left for street art... ;-)

Banksy • Flower Thrower, by Coach on Oct 30, 2009 0:24:21 GMT 1, Choice piece DD. I do sometimes wonder how many more little gems some forum members have on their walls. I also think a serious auction house would be best way to go. Unless of course you get a decent offer on here, which is not impossible - or WK of course. Good luck

Banksy • Flower Thrower, by urbanangel on Dec 15, 2009 15:56:43 GMT 1, Hi all,
Looking for the below canvases for a personal friend. This is nothing to do with Urban Angel. My friend has just asked me to ask on here, as he doesn't use the forums.
Laugh Now Flower Thrower (LIITA)
Must be canvases.
Must have at least Laz provenance, but ideally PC as well. PC would need to be obtained before any funds are transfered.
Very serious buyer. Same-day bank transfer available this side of Xmas if the deal is right.
The guy is very clued up and will only pay current 'private sale' market value...not auction nonsense or Lazarides / Andipa retail prices.
Please EMAIL me at sales at urbanangel dot com
DO NOT PM as I do not check them.
Many thanks,
Andrew

Andrew, good luck but I'm curious as to how one even determines private sale market value on works like that? Are you referring to bid price without premium? To me, auction is anything but nonsense at that level (though we all know the games that are played but the truth is in the mix) and I would (and have) checked with Sotheby's and Christie's for what they would list a certain work before buying it at retail. Further, maybe I'm naive but do you think many have traded hands privately as opposed to the auction block as of late (I don't)? Again just curious, but good luck. I don't know where any of the latter are at retail but both galleries do have the former although only one is a canvas.

I have to admit that it gets my goat a little. If that's their only contribution. But then again maybe it's because I never have what they want!!

Banksy • Flower Thrower, by Deleted on Mar 19, 2014 21:50:05 GMT 1, There are galleries on here, on the whole, they play the game and get involved in the banter- they can also add to the discussion- sometimes its interesting to have a different viewpoint. They are part of the art ecosystem, bottm feeders yes, but integral to the market
what does my cake in is when someone pops up- the lack of intro , banter or basic manners is a personal beef with me - and requests a specific piece of art. The poster has no interest in the art, does not stock or deal in the stuff, has fuck all evidence of actually knowing anything about it- yet pops up demanding a piece that has effectively been off the radar for nigh on a decade now, shows a real lack of understanding or indeed interest.
I warrant than some hedgie or Goldmans MD , living up in Greenwich Conn has decided that Bansky is the next aquisition for this investment portfolio, gallery gladhands the punter and promises to get him one. problem is that these dont really exisit any more-and if they did, very few people are dumb enough to flog em to a gallery, when they know they could quite easily get another 25-40% for it privately
