Nick Walker - New Dawn print arrived today, by Sundowner on Jul 1, 2009 19:56:49 GMT 1, Amazing how many of these are/have been flipped on ebay by all the muppets that normally tout tickets (just check the feedback of rupertthebear1986)....I see nothing's changed on the route to trying to make an easy buck.

It doesn't necessarily help long term but in the short term it creates an inflated value of artists work. If an artist sells out immediately, sells for more than cost, and is flipped on ebay their work reaches a larger audience. Beyond that, if something has a perceived value it is far more valuable (mentally and physically) to the average art consumer. Some of us, who consciously watch out for this type of thing may not fall into this trap but I'd say the majority of art consumers do.

Nick Walker - New Dawn print arrived today, by Guest on Jul 2, 2009 8:13:24 GMT 1, People flipping prints is never any good for an artists long term career, in the short term it creates an inflated and disproportionate pricing on the secondary market which could lead to sales in the primary market, but in the long term once the flippers move on to another money spinner, the artist is left with a market that will crash nearly as quick as it rose. It is much better to have a steady flow of sales to people that want to hang the work on their walls, and not line their own pockets.
One example would be David Choe.
