I know that their closure has left a bad taste in some quarters understandably, but its sad they have gone.

Yeah that's what I thought. Declare your business bankrupt and you start again debt free.
Its sad for the scene, even though they were obviously doing a lot wrong. Sorry to hear the Bristol Boy.
My mate had this sweet 1970-something Gibson Les Paul. Like a couple of grands worth. Took it to a local guitar shop for some work on the pickups, in the mean time, the company went bust and he lost the guitar! No refund, no cash was available to be given back out. Never saw it again. He was gutted.

From what there is in the public domain it seems very unlikely there would be a criminal prosecution. The receiver may try and strip limited liability if he can make a case, but overtrading on it's own is unlikely to be sufficient for that. It would be more interesting to see if he wants to unwind any recent transactions and the implications.
