I still fail to see why GWB is consistantly the most expensive unsigned apart from Rude Copper but always more than a Barcode etc . ?

thats a 2 part canvas and i think the price is £30,000. was in the bonhams auction and didnt sell (another one of this exact series).

The copper one was £85K and has been sold - they had the single / double canvasses at £75K ish last week

Ohhhh - and it's lovely.

Never understood why it's referred to a Girl with Balloon, a long time ago I used to think that the meaning of the print was the inference that young girls give their hearts away too young nowadays or at least that was my take on it...

I love how simple this image is, my favourite Banksy print.

There was a penchant for some unscrupulous balloon sellers to apply a little oil to the string thus making it difficult for little hands to grip them tightly. It is a little known fact that Banksy fought a long and bitter campaign to have this practise stamped out, culminating in the production of this classic piece, which originally was called " Girl with Sticky Fingers".
