yeh they were cool! Thats me on the left to help the guys who i met work out who i am.
i need to go bk to the show as it would take WEEEKSS to cover all of the great art, it was also great to see styles of art i was unfammiliar with! great show!

Nick Walker โข The Empire's State, by Sacked... on Jan 14, 2009 13:01:10 GMT 1, what a day ;D i took steve's (discoduster) advice & booked the earlier train from liverpool while grantb kindly kept me updated via phone/text when he got there at 11:00 there were 50 people in the queue, needless to say i was worried (i'd paid ยฃ100 for the train) i got there just before 12:30 & was one of the last 10 to succeed (so much for 16:00 but really, what did you expect? especially if you're familiar with the 'life's too short' release) it seemed well organised with brp only bringing 100 blank invoices to avoid a cock-up but i'm dissapointed to hear georgec7's encounter i got talking to a nice chap named neil (you lurker  ) who had come up from devon. he made the +2 hour queue a pleasure so if he's reading, thanks mate. it was also a nice gesture from brp to let us leave the queue to get hot drinks (it got pretty cold at one point) at 15:00 we were given our invoices & told to come back any time before 18:00 so off i went to the sweet toof exhibition which was  i got back at 16:45, queued for another hour then went in to pay for my print i absolutely loved the fair itself, with 3/4 of the top floor bursting with great art (the bottomless wine was a nice touch too  ) i don't know who said there was a recession? by 19:00 there were red dots everywhere! it was nice to meet you sacked/ toothfairy  highlightmeeting sir peter blake at the cca gallery stand who kindly signed a hand out for me 
Hi Ross it was good to meet you and your brother too.Further to our chat about the Guy Denning canvasses,i know you said you were FAR to young to remember these but i must point out they are STILL made and therefore i am not THAT old !!

Bloody glad i didn't as it would have been a total waste of time. I bet a least half get resold. great result for BRP though. yes they did say this, but anyone who has gone for a release before will know that these are only guidelines as often the gallery itself does not know what will happen?! BRP did what they could as you have to remember it wasnt thier show, they could not be seen to encourage a queue/disruption outside the event. the info they gave need some reading between the lines, but i tend to make my own judgments and i thought getting there early was the best way to get a print . . . and it worked. i think they handled it great and the staff at the BDC where great aswell!

If BRP told the early queuers (me being one) to do one and come back at 4pm there would have been another queue formed around the corner and then a mad dash to the art fair doors at 4pm, BRP did the best they could under the circumstances, once they knew that a large queue had formed and got the ok from the Art Fair pepole they came out and informed pepole ine the queue about it all, they followed through with all the promises they made on the day, i feel sorry for the pepole who set out later and then missed out on the print, but if they had come earlier they would have got a print, yes it was a long day, but at the moment that seems to be the only way to get the most popular artists prints,trust me i wish i could have left my home at 1:00pm to then turned up at 4pm and queue for an 1 hour and get a print, instead of leaving home at 4:20 am and getting there at 8:15am and queuing up for 8 hours, i was so tired i think i talked a few forum members to sleep, sorry to you all, i met a few nice pepole on the day and bagged a print so worthwhile day in the end. to all who missed out I feel for you, i really do. but as the saying goes " The early bird catches the worm" and a bloody cold,bad back, three hours sleep, but thankfully a print, but I'm feeling it today:(.
