It is quite frustrating when I am on a train with 2 hours to go and no chance of getting one.
Still, as I said before, there will be plenty of other artists work to see and maybe purchase.

anyone who arrives later - might just broaden thier horizons - there is going to be loads of great art for sale in there and a lot of it much cheaper than the walker - but of course being contemporary art it's much less flippable! - But those who do go mae sure to have a good look around - there will be plenty of suprises in store - Look out for some Xenz stuff at Forster

I think it's a little unfair that BRP newsletter said not to arrive before 4pm - they have now changed it to read afternoon.

It expressly said 4pm though as I checked it this morning when I read queues were forming.

Feel sorry for the people who stuck to this.

Too true; but viewing poor art is an important means of determining your personal tastes - what you do and don't like...

yeh id bargained on not being able to get near the place before 4, hence booking off work to get there before then. pissed off that it was allowed from 10ish.

just got back from bdc and missed out on this one. i was told the last place went about 1 ish, so missed out by an hour.
there are 100 prints to be sold on the night, brp had already taken down the names for collection and payment at the stand once they open the doors, with the remaining going to overeas lottery (over 400 applicants) and cover any damages in post.
i doubt very much brp would blacklist those from buying the print if they have been lining up since this morning, if they do, id like to know and i would be straight back down there.
having paid for the preview ticket (which cannot be reimbursed), cost of travel and losing a half day at work, this has cost me a few quid.....and i dont even have a print...b*llcks..

it wont be the full 75 for lottery, they are keeping some back for any damages in post...

Galleries don't keep some of the numbered edition for damages, if the edition is 175 they'll print 200-210 get them all signed and the number the first 175 and keep the rest for spares.

If you receive number 56 damaged and return, that number does not disappear from the edition, it is simply destroyed and a new one numbered 56 and sent as a replacement.

Maybe 75 won't be for the overseas raffle as Mr walker may have a few for his friends but i'm sure most will.
