that's a pretty decent under-estimate. Primary retail on average wood pieces is about 1/3 higher these days. Secondary retail on a piece as well-regarded as Arab Woman would be a good bit higher that.

posted on the obey forum also... been showing few people your art piece bonesy and they really loved the aged effect the art piece has.... told myself this week going to get 3 of my only prints left framed but still in the hope for this one! wonder if anyone on here managed to get the one on metal? have to say thanks again also really enjoyed this thread and seeing your pictures appreciate alot!...s

It weighs around 3 lbs or so i would guess, not very heavy. Of the 3 HPMs on wood of this image there was one sold at LeVine, one at MK Gallery, and my guess would be the third was sold at Stolen Space. Good luck.

saphoria, you should concentrate on just trying to find the edition of 300 silkscreen print. you will not find anybody who will let their fine art piece go. i'd act quickly on the print because it will be soaring in price very soon; very few of the prints are for sale as is. good luck!

I checked out Shepard's retrospective at the ICA in Boston today. The Arab Woman canvas was the most beautiful piece there, hands-down. I dont know the dimensions off-hand but its huge, like 15' x 10' (or 12' x 8') I would guess.

It was made in 2006, there was actually a podcast on thegiant.org of Shepard making it. Its in a private collection. The ICA retrospective is a museum show, nothing is for sale (accept a couple things in the museum store).

im sure i saw picture before but thought was available to buy now... it is a beautiful piece... only wish could see in person to actually see all the detail ... maybe they will showcase exhibition over in the uk some time soon?

i was 10 minutes late for this one at the art basel miami beach - juxtapoz show in 2007....

ideabolo would have been very happy for you if you managed to get this from the show... does look truly stunning...

maybe he will revisit the theme one more time in the future... im holding out for uk show to come up but i dont think will see anything that will come close to this..art piece is recognised by many, many people i know when i first started looking was speaking to artists here in the uk and they all heard or saw this from shep...

still on a mission to get... one day will happen i am sure.... good luck to you also...s

thanks s, i managed to get a silkscreen on wood & im very happy with it.
if this big lady comes back on the market im in for the original price + 20%.
will let you know if i come across another arab woman fine art piece one day.
