Banksy provenance, by corblimeylimey on Aug 26, 2007 14:04:33 GMT 1, Laz won't authenticate and it's really not cool to take the stuff from the street, the only fair reason would be reclaimation.
As for proof it was a real banksy you can't get much better than it appearing in one of Banksy's books or on his website.

Probably.. if they're still friends and if you're taking about the Brighton text piece

sorry, wrong person, ignore me.
What piece do you have ? seems a bit odd trying to help you out, or you asking provenance questions on here without posting a picture of the work.

Well it's quite an old model so probably not that much, you can a decent flatscreen brand new for about 300 quid, if it's still working probably about a tenner, but you'd probably have to scrub that black mark of the top first

Banksy provenance, by baldwin on Aug 26, 2007 19:24:15 GMT 1, If I was you, I would spend a bit of money on making it look nice i.e. restore it and give it a pucker frame job.
Then, I would do everything in my power to get laz to provide provenance. If you do get provenance, and sell it then you will probably get a lot for it - I am really not sure about the likelihood of this though.
If you cannot get provenance, then you could try it on the bay. Just be totally honest about its story and maybe someone will take a punt.
That's what I would do anyway
If all fails, at least you will have a real piece of art history hanging on your wall. I think it could be made to look quite cool. If you know itβs definitely real, then personally, I would be happy that I had something so special on my wall.

Banksy provenance, by Oliver Garland on Aug 26, 2007 19:32:27 GMT 1, Can you get something like this restored? Im NOT seeling it fell inlove with it too quickly to part with it ha. Just wondering what to insure it for and that malarki. Exactly, I know its real and to be honest thats all that matters. Do you know anyone who could restore it? Its already been framed but restoring it sounds great. (currently at the framers)
