POW Open Day • 2008, by hitme on Dec 10, 2008 3:43:24 GMT 1, What print does everyone think is the top print from the lotto? Of course Banksy is Banksy and everyone wants it. But should the other artists really be lost in the bun fight for the Banksy. What about Antony Micallef? He hasn't released a print for a while, and 150 is a pretty low edition for him, is it not? He suffered from the Laz overflow of prints a few years back and his market suffered significantly. How will these prints do? Big flop or big diamond? How about BAST? Back to his old school stuff. Eelus - that print drew lots of attention.
Feel free to comment about what the real print highlights were.

But dont understand why the ed.25 in b/w was so special!? anyone enlighten me? feel they got it the wrong way round, surely ed.125 for b/w and ed.25 silver!? I must have missed something...

POW Open Day • 2008, by Heavyconsumer on Dec 10, 2008 5:00:36 GMT 1, Love the Banksy, hate the Bast and the leon Petersons. I thought the Lucy and the Xenz prints are both smashing images and also quite liked one of the Mic's (not Bethlehem, the other one). What with time difference etc, I missed out on all the action as I was lying in today and then looking after the littlun. If anyone receives a silver "Special Branch" and isn't keen, please contact me for possible swaps. (not incl' the Banksy this was my clear favourite).
Grant, I think you'll find "Raivenhaired" did sell out PDQ and long ago, but the link on his site wasn't taken down. I may be wrong, but this is what was stated by various members in another recent thread. (And I def' agree it was Eelus' best work to date by a mile)

Well, we know that will not last. Crappy auction. Poor description, not a good picture. Plus, POW should be able to track down that location pretty easily - seems pretty specific to the seller's location.

POW Open Day • 2008, by weeble on Dec 10, 2008 8:53:19 GMT 1, What price is the new Micallefs being sold at? Doubt they'll flop, but to be honest I thought they were pretty bland. Nothing compared to his Harajuku days. I don't think any of the recent POW prints did anything for me, so on that level thought it was a flop all round! The Xenx was probably my fave, but decided it just didn't quite set me alight enough. Nice, but did it have that 'I HAVE TO HAVE IT ON THE WALL, NOW!!' feel? Not for me. And I don't understand the fuss on the Eelus prints! Something looks weird about those girls to me, like their bodies are too long or something, and one looks like a dwarf. Weird. Looks like the poster to some cheesy 80s vampire flick or something. lol. Anyway, I think it's all too easy for people to get caught up in the fray and fever - I mean you should have seen the guy in front of me, panicking like he just had to buy something regardless of what it was, literally going ape sh*t. Even the POW girls were like, what?!!??! lol. For all the fuss, I don't think any of the prints had enough wow factor. IMO of course...

POW Open Day • 2008, by G-Man on Dec 10, 2008 8:57:57 GMT 1, I was into the print room in the first 10 on saturday morning with a pocket full of cash and nervously expecting to spend large sums of cash
The Xenz were really nice but I have to say i prefer his gold ones to the silver it felt a little cold to me? Also the print was huge once framed I haven't got wall space for anything that big!
The Eelus was nice but he has done better for cheaper
The Bast specials were really reallly cool but I dont get him
The Lucy was not as nice as the Beat13 release last week but still a good print from her
Th highlight had to be the £20k set of 6 signed Banky ed 12 of the wall last year but even after doing a lot of maths I couldn't afford to drop £20k
I ummed and arred over a little sweet toof canvas that I notice someone on here bought
So unbelievably I spent 2 hours queueing early Sat morn to be 5th in the queue to buy no prints!!!!!!
I left with my £20 tickets bought and a free t-shirt that was given to the first 10 or so in the queue
Great prints but in the current climate I do think that some were way too pricey and there was nothing that really shone out
If I had to pick a favourite I'd have to say the Bast super specials were pretty amazing but I think they were over £700!!

There can only be a max of 40 going online after you take the 259 from the edition size of 299. SO out of the 40 i would be surprised if 10 went online if any. I think thats it now for Banksy this year. What an amzing year for banksy prints....2. O well there has been 2 in the last 4 weeks he must have booked another holiday during xmas all inclusive....

thanks. still hoping, but from the looks of it, no more online release. remaining 40 prints may be for POW staff and friends.
