Vol. 2: Pure Evil, by Pure Evil on Jul 19, 2007 23:22:17 GMT 1, Have you ever considered an alternative career as a professional look-a-like? Where did the "bunny" tag come from?
When I was about ten I was staying at my cousins place and I asked them if I could borrow a shotgun to play with.. of course being responsible people they said YES so I went out into the fields playing the 'DEER HUNTER' game and I saw a couple of rabbits in the fields having a good time and I unloaded both barrels in their general vicinity.. but I NEVER EVER thought I would EVER hurt them... but when I went over there was a rabbit DEAD in the field with a little red bead of blood coming out of its mouth... I was gutted that I had killed it.
Everybody else wasn't , they thought I was brilliant for getting them lunch and they made a nice pie out of it...
...So PURE EVIL is the undead ghost of the bunny that I killed, coming back for fuck my shit up.

Vol. 2: Pure Evil, by Pure Evil on Jul 20, 2007 11:01:24 GMT 1, how often do you don your hoodie and bomb the streets? have you ever been caught bombing/tagging by the old bill?
1. based on this the last month, on average about 3 times a week, but I used to go out everytime I got a bit drunk, which was a LOT.... but painting canvasses and doing prints take up a lot of time at the moment, as well as hanging out with beautiful WOMEN:
2. I have been stopped 3 times by the polis but each time I pretend that its the first time I have ever done graffiti and I am a retard... when they see what I have been spraying they usually believe me and let me go... I think also because I always go out spraying in some kind of fancy dress that makes a big difference, although the full black burka costume wasn't so successful. They thought I was a ninja in training..

Vol. 2: Pure Evil, by Pure Evil on Jul 20, 2007 11:08:22 GMT 1, What is your favourite piece of art that you've purchased?
um I havent ever bought any art.. thats f*cked up isnt it.. I just trade with people I like... my favourite piece is a painting my grandmother gave me of a landscape in Chile where her family used to live.. when she died she left a note on the back saying it was for me.. ahh god thats such a 'not cool' answer.. can I answer that again ? Its the KENT STATE RIOT print I have that was done by Richard Hamilton.. thats a cooler answer...
What is your favourite piece that you've created?
without a doubt, the 666UV edition... when I see the reaction it gets from people when they go over it with the UV wand it is electric... I have a 2m x 2m oil painting of it in the framers right now... that is going to be the DADDY piece... but when I finished the shole collage it was scary... BAD VIBES MAN>>

Vol. 2: Pure Evil, by Pure Evil on Jul 20, 2007 14:07:09 GMT 1, Did you study art anywhere or just do it in your spare time? I did an art A level and then did an art foundation course , but I did my degree in clothing design not art, because I was really into skateboarding and I wanted to be a streetwear designer... also, at the time of going to college in about 1988 Margaret Thatcher was running things and it was a bit of a bleak time creative wise. There was no future for artists ..
How did you get your first big break being a recognised artist? I was painting a pure evil bunny on a wall and this guy came up and said "hey are you the guy who does those ? I really like them , they make me smile when I'm walking to work and I see them" That made a big impression on me and made me realise I was having an impact...I guess also getting up in SANTAS GHETTO and onto POW were big breaks...

Vol. 2: Pure Evil, by Pure Evil on Jul 20, 2007 14:17:25 GMT 1, Why did you choose the name 'Pure Evil' ?
Um I was sitting on my bed with a piece of paper and a pencil jst drawing creatures and I drew a pretty daft looking fanged bunny with big blobby ears and the phrase PURE EVIL just kind of jumped into my head so I wrote it down and it all kind of stuckk together... then when I tried it on a wall it just looked funny and I couldnt stop...
this was one of my first attempts and its pretty ropey but still, I kind of like it

Vol. 2: Pure Evil, by Pure Evil on Jul 20, 2007 14:28:28 GMT 1, Same question as posed to Ripper1331 - What piece of art did you miss out on that you'd love to have on your wall?
Lilith by Anselm Kiefer
Oil, ash and copper wire on canvas support: 3800 x 5600 mm painting
Purchased 1990
This horrific vision of urban sprawl was inspired by Kiefer’s visit to Sao Paulo in Brazil. Tangled copper wiring signals the breakdown of communication. The city is engulfed in an apocalyptic haze, which Kiefer created by spreading dust and earth across the painting, then burning parts of its surface. According to Hebrew mythology, Lilith was Adam’s first wife, a seductive and demonic airborne spirit. In Kiefer’s painting, Lilith seems to bring destruction from the air upon Oscar Niemeyer’s modernist buildings. (From the display caption September 2004)
and running a close second , Giant by Goya
