Hello all.

Well, I have decided to sell, and obviously I want the best price.

I was wondering if anyone could answer a few questions.

If I go for an auction house. How do I go about setting it up, and if the auction is in august, how long do I have to wait until payment??

I know that there are various fees and commissions involved in that area, but I suppose you do get a better deal on the end price?? Or not???

I don't want to go down the ebay route as there will be too many time wasters, as well as the outrageous fees.

I know someone put a link up to a website on here, and I phoned the bloke, and had a long conversation with him. He was selling his set for £30k, on the basis that LAZ had one going for £40k!!!!!

Personally I think that is a bit of a piss take, but if could get anywhere in the region of £20k I would be well happy.

Can anyone help in regards to instructions on setting this up with an auction house, as I know feck all about it.

ok let me help you a little, given that I worked for an auction house.

Firstly fees will vary - depending on the piece(s) and how the auction house will see the potential in it - 5 - 10% is the range, you have on top catalogue fees, so if you want to have your piece featured in the auction catalogue, usually £100 per photo), then you have 1.5% insurance fees, this is based on the guide price - so before you think you have pocketed £20K (which in my opinion is over the odds), you have to deduct these costs.

Also 6 unsigned pieces (granted from one set) hmmmm i doubt any auction house would sell these as one piece - Antony Micallef Pure Idols set comes to mind - auction house i worked for refused to sell them as a set, much to the sellers frustration, as 1 out of the 4 didnt sell

Also bear in mind any buyer will have to pay 20% buyers premium, plus vat, plus 4% artist resale rights - so what you think isnt taking the piss, will end up being one

I dont think anyone also really cares that these are all matching numbers, you can pick 5/6 unsigned prints for all under £1000 each

I doubt you would get £6K for it now, with quite a few "Sale Ends Today" up on ebay lately. Capitalism will soon follow.

Again as has been pointed out before the 100 from the LA set are different in quality to the UK ones and different, take the gold frame on Morons and the cream background on Trolleys.
I think the only way to test these is stick them in an auction house (maybe Dreweatts) or on ebay.

agree with iwouldfollowyouanywhere, i had the LA trolleys, prefer the UK version, which imo is the best out of the 6 - actually it is one of Banksy's best images
