Remember when you could buy a signed Banksy for £150?, by munkeh on Oct 16, 2024 14:54:49 GMT 1, Been going through my old email accounts and found a few emails from POW.
Got this one about CND Soldiers, which I later went on to buy, signed for £150.
Although I didn't buy it straight away, I think I bought it a few days later.
If I remember right, signed/unsigned used to be available for about 2 weeks.
Then Bradgalina came along and it became an F5 refresh game!

Remember when you could buy a signed Banksy for £150?, by Greyhound on Oct 16, 2024 16:11:03 GMT 1, I remember wanting to buy a signed Because I'm Worthless for £250 from a local gallery, probably around that time. My girlfriend at the time talked me out of it. A couple (few?) years later I managed to get talked out of buying one for £999 by a new girlfriend.
It consoles me to think that I'd probably have sold it when it was worth a couple of grand, but to this day I'd like to have one on the wall.

Remember when you could buy a signed Banksy for £150?, by munkeh on Oct 16, 2024 18:02:40 GMT 1, All the Banksys I bought were then framed and put on my wall, I also owned SpaceInvader, PaulInsect and Nick Walker, all again enjoyed in my room and not in a tube.
Back before they went to silly prices, I'd buy them, enjoy them, sell them on and make a few hundred quid, to then buy another and enjoy that too.
The CND one, I actually sold it on eBay soon after the BradGelina incident, I think at the time I had the highest sold print of his in sold auctions at £2,100.
In all the prints I owned, I had signed CND, Grannies, Jack and Jill, Nola. Unsigned, most of the rats. If I had only kept them, but I got the most out of them at the time.
I actually sold Nola to my parents for £2,500. They had it for about 8 years and sold it at ForumAuctions for about 30k, so not bad really. I got a bit towards a new car too.
Now I'm just hunting down an einePink Train and it'll go with my Hewlett Sponge Finger and eine Blue Train that I've kept hold of as I like them.

Remember when you could buy a signed Banksy for £150?, by Onket on Oct 16, 2024 18:19:39 GMT 1, If I had bought any of these at the time I'd have definitely sold them as soon as they became worth a few hundred. That's if they weren't damaged in the multiple house/flat moves, I never seemed to live anywhere longer than a year until we bought our first place in 2010. Besides, my money was spent on beer and other things, not an overpriced glorified posters (as I'm pretty sure I saw 'prints' at the time). I've got my XL Americans sticker that I got from the wall at the Burner Prize, and the memories- that'll do me.
