Banksy article in the Daily Mail today , by loui on Mar 31, 2024 2:19:41 GMT 1, Banksy fed up with being Banksy. That ‘ll be the day. Banksy did some great things in the early days, raising awareness etc. Sorry it ends the way it’s going to end mate. Is there ever an end to creativity I wonder.

Banksy article in the Daily Mail today , by Zippy on Mar 31, 2024 6:40:09 GMT 1, Daily Fail have nothing better to do than repeat the same old shit they post when they have no other stories for the 2.2 families to read over their cornflakes in dull, middle class suburbia.
There is no need to post their drivel on here. Their bile does not need publicity. The artist wants to remain anonymous. Let’s respect that.

Banksy article in the Daily Mail today , by PC Baby on Apr 1, 2024 23:23:19 GMT 1, All this incessant speculation is a real bore and we as Members on what started off as a dedicated Banksy Forum should ask ourselves who would truly benefit from a reveal?
In my humble opinion, I believe it would have an adverse effect on Banksy as an artist and the way he executes his wall art, which, let's face it, are absolutely vital parts of who he is and what he does. Just imagine, apart from absolutely everyone wanting a piece of him and wanting to be seen with Banksy on social media, there might also be unimaginable implications which could significantly impact upon his time and ability to carry out all the different aspects that go into the creation of a new piece of street art - and that would be OUR COLLECTIVE LOSS!
Moreover, it is questionable whether disclosure of his identity would benefit his art market.
This UAA Forum and its Members are undoubtedly proud of being associated with such an intriguing, ongoing mystery that has literally captivated the whole world and, therefore, should actively encourage & promote NOT WANTING TO FIND OUT !

Ah come on, it's not a mystery. Daily Mail aside there's endless sources online from the early days in Bristol, loads of photos etc, anyone who really wants to figure it out has been able to long before 2008. It just seems for whatever reason the general public still seem to think it's a mystery, which I guess is a good thing. Personally I think if he did a big reveal it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to his art or market, most serious collectors know who he his and often know him personally.
