Urban Art Store, by lollo88 on Jan 24, 2024 15:28:23 GMT 1, They look great honestly, but 1k for a drawing on A3 paper for a completely unknown artist is not ok. And I'm not implying it does not deserve that amount, I'm saying it is just bad product placement. It is a bad market strategy to be this greedy from day 1 of someone's career. Bad for the artist and bad for the agent (or gallery, or representative, or whoever else). My humble opinion of course

Best Have you thought of collaborating with a bricks and mortar gallery? Maybe include HM in a group exhibition. Get their work seen irl by as many eyes as possible.
If you have to come on to UAA and allow for price negotiation, it's end of the road basically. Surely we can't be your last option?

Urban Art Store, by Urban Art Store on Jun 9, 2024 19:50:48 GMT 1, We are pleased to introduce, Spenhy.
'Spenhy is an emerging artist, who creates visually striking, multidimensional works that are presented as digital representations of their physical constructions. Combining materials such as lead, iron and concrete with powerful themes of ritual, impermanence, and rebirth. Spenhy uses the same materials over and over again, transforming them from one artwork to the next, in a kind of ritual or spiritual practice. The lead and other metals that Spenhy uses are imbued with the energy and intention of each previous artwork. As they are melted down and reformed, they carry with them the memories and experiences of all the artworks that came before, creating an ancestral lineage that connects each new piece to a larger spiritual tradition'.
we are launching his work on Wednesday, these are high quality photos of his work and signed, numbered by the artist and only £200. We are offering members a discount if interested.
Thank you for reading.

Urban Art Store, by Urban Art Store on Jun 10, 2024 19:10:38 GMT 1, Hi all
We are working with Beware The Void and have 3 pieces which are truly epic. If you don’t know, based in Romford (London, U.K) and working primarily in the South East of the United Kingdom, contemporary artist John Ball creates unsettling images of a bleak suburban landscape.
John is probably best known for his appearance on the Sky Arts ‘Landscape Artist Of The Year’ television show where he was fortunate enough to place as finalist.
‘Incredibly cinematic, foreboding vacant landscapes’ comparable to the work of Edward hopper and David lynch. (Kate Bryan, Head of Collections for Soho House)
'John Ball's work was a like a breath of fresh air on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year in 2017 with its unique sense of mood and use of colour. The melancholic scenes that he constructs are poetic in themselves and full of story, to the point that they demand your attention and hold it very firmly indeed.' (Kathleen Soriano, curator)
Commissioned by Teeth of the Sea (Rocket Recordings) to produce their debut album cover in 2009 and subsequently 'your mercury' (2010) and 'Master' (2013).
John has previously exhibited in The National Portrait Gallery with the BP Portrait Awards in 2007 with his painting 'Commuter' This was also published in the '500 Portraits' hardback in 2011.
In 2018 His first solo show ‘beware the void’ debuted in Escondido, California and has subsequently exhibited at the Wells Art Contemporary, the ING Discerning Eye and has work in the Nanxi Academy permanent collection.
We have not released this yet, but offering you the opportunity first. 'RED', OIL ON BOARD, 40 X 40 CM, £585
'SURVEILLANCE', OIL ON BOARD, 40 X 40 CM, £585
'HAZARD', OIL ON BOARD, 40 X 40 CM, £585

Urban Art Store, by Urban Art Store on Jun 11, 2024 18:40:08 GMT 1, As an update, some words from the artist:
Those of us born in the USSR were taught by the older generation that ‘if you haven’t studied something for a long time, you can’t just start doing it.’ We are a generation of people who were not taught to dream. I started drawing in 2022, on the first day of the war, sitting in a bomb shelter, reflecting and reliving my past, as it was the only way to escape the new reality and uncertainty. Dissecting my past down to the first clear childhood memory, I remembered what I always wanted to do and what I dreamed of. I began to draw, hoping that there would still be an opportunity to start living anew, dedicating every free moment to make art. It took about a year to find my own style. By early 2023, I focused on digital illustration, creating characters that expressed my fears, thoughts, emotions, memories. Their faces are often covered, showing secrecy, while their bodies are full and naked, symbolizing vulnerability/Insecurity and egocentrism. In late 2023, I began painting with oils on canvas. In doing so, I wanted to surround myself with my characters, bringing them into my physical world, so they would be with me, and would never be alone again. By 2024, the world remains unstable, and I still live under daily shelling with no chance of escaping the constant state of fear and threat. This led me to paint in a new, more chaotic style, continuing to reflect through art. The paintings have become a part of me, and I am a part of them. Selling paintings is an opportunity for me to travel through my characters, to communicate with people, to be part of a world where there is no war. N.N - Neseva Nesterenko.
