The Art of Banksy Touring Ltd, by LJCal on Sept 12, 2023 20:23:38 GMT 1, I'm hearing a bunch of rumours on this, apparently these guys have filed for insolvency with various peoples work still on loan and money owing. Michael Boersma is the guy behind. I've not been personally impacted so don't want to say anything inaccurate, but does anyone know the full facts? to avoid anyone getting stitched up would be good to understand. I'm hoping no one has been directly effected but doesn't sound good from what i'm hearing.

The Art of Banksy Touring Ltd, by robo on Sept 12, 2023 20:55:06 GMT 1, I was approached by them to loan some pieces a few years back. I looked at their company structure, which was very complicated involving multiple connected holding companies, and decided not to get involved.

I imagine these guys probably want to do a press release to confirm they're a separate entity.

The Art of Banksy Touring Ltd, by Dubman on Sept 13, 2023 10:15:02 GMT 1, The guy is a villan - steer clear.
I was unfortunate enough to loan him many pieces for his US show/s for initially up to 12 months. After 7 or 8 months, the shows not performing well - he reneged on his own contract and terminated it.
I was lucky (and happy) just to get my pieces back which was touch and go at one point as my correspondence was ignored. When I did finally get everything back, which was a massive relief, I had multiple damaged and scratched frames (the work was all in tact) - which I then perused to get repaired as per the terms in the contract.
My correspondence was ignored and I took a view.
Thereafter, I heard similar stories of collectors with damages and other nightmare situations where owners who had loaned original Banksy's - being held by customs due to non payment where they had to fly out to pay to get their artwork back and having to prove ownership.
In the scope of things I think I got away lightly - but I would strongly advise anyone dealing with him or any subsidiary company...
"get out while you can" (sorry couldn't resist)

NEVER NEVER loan to anyone
had very bad experience with contemporary art trader (Andrew Lilley), which at the end (with hundred of mails sent)I was able to close the position, but really that was the biggest mistake I did as a collector.

The Art of Banksy Touring Ltd, by mission on Sept 13, 2023 13:10:55 GMT 1, I think this is totally unjust !! Everything and I mean everything was done to your satisfaction ! Including a very large pay off this is totally unjust and uncalled for I assure you ! you were very happy with the outcome . 100s if emails? Probably 10? Get your facts right Really there is no need for this , your print was slightly damaged due to circumstances beyond my control and I fully compensated you within 2 weeks of the incident so please . Don’t jump on the bandwagon

The Art of Banksy Touring Ltd, by mission on Sept 13, 2023 13:14:11 GMT 1, CAT has rented over £25m in art for exhibitions .. every single piece was returned in same order. The Italian One was literally the ONLY mishap , and this was taken care of as above . Not one single client ever had a complaint , in fact quite the contrary . It’s funny how you’re happy to disclose this now ? Why? And why disclose private names on Forums As I said … totally unjust and uncalled for

Any chance you ll be Able to sell mine and find a mint one ? In this case I will definitely accept your offer. What do you think? Francesco Ehh? Please leave it at this … Hi Andrew, didn't want to take this public but if I have to... I will for the very last time as I don't want to speak or chat again with you!
the print was a banksquiat (mint still in original package) gray which (because you need it urgently) you took responsibility to frame!
I make a long story short; the print wasn't framed properly and get faded during the exhibition because it was framed cheaply with non protective glass/plexiglass
you said insurance would not pay for this kind of damage (that's ridiculous ) as per contract you were supposed to buy the print at the price stated if anything happened to the print (didn't want that) but when I asked to have the print replaced with a new one what was your reply? you can post your reply here !
I wasn't absolutely happy with how this situation ended, I was so sick and tired that the choice was to bring you in court (I'm Italian so this wouldn't be easy for me to handle) or to end the situation take the compensation and forgive everything about what happened.
contract/insurence means nothing and that is a fact!

The Art of Banksy Touring Ltd, by Dubman on Sept 13, 2023 13:52:55 GMT 1, Thanks for posting LJCal. Just out of curiosity, never done it, but if you do loan any of your art works to a company to exhibit, I presume they pay you? Yep, the amount depends on rarity or if an original or screen print and length of time.
Was a good way to earn a revenue on the asset but in my case the company in question was crooked!
