FairArt - A New Kind of Marketplace, by Beetle Bum on Aug 10, 2023 15:34:49 GMT 1, Maybe this has been answered already. How do you know where a seller is based because it would be good to know if you were trying to avoid custom fees if you were based in Europe for example and wanted to buy from another seller based in Europe. Thanks

FairArt - A New Kind of Marketplace, by Ads Army on Oct 6, 2023 17:26:39 GMT 1, For those with any type of reservations Fair Art - I wanted to share my experience over the past year. I have sold 8 items and each time dealing with Lucy has been a pleasure. They send the DHL labels virtually straight away and they ask you to send the item within a few days which has never been an issue. As soon as the buyer receives the items, the money is transferred into your account. It is so much easier selling on Fair Art than on UAA !!!

FairArt - A New Kind of Marketplace, by topper on Oct 9, 2023 7:34:52 GMT 1, I've bought from fairart a few times and have had no issues at all. Great communication from them when they thought the seller was taking to long to post, I hadn't even complained. Like the concept that anyone can jump in to the sale/purchase at any time. Keeps everyone on thier toes.

FairArt - A New Kind of Marketplace, by Quite like Art on Oct 9, 2023 11:40:48 GMT 1, I donโt quite understand why anyone would be against competition in the art market. Market is ripe for disruption and Iโm surprised itโs taken so long for a platform like FairArt. Iโve sold and purchased multiple works on FairArt now and has been nothing but a seamless experience. Kudos to Lucy and team for making it such a stress free experience

My bad... the art reseller must be advertising new art releases out of the goodness of their hearts.
Out of interest, does the release calendar notify me of the release date of this Ai Weiwei print or the date the two year resale agreement ends?

If you can't tell, these guys p***ed me off with relentless "would you consider selling this on fartart on anything I listed on eBay".

FairArt - A New Kind of Marketplace, by Londown 01 on Nov 9, 2023 20:56:37 GMT 1, Interesting: did you (Fairart) after all decide to allow sales of these works, even though the 2 years have not passed?
(5,5k GBP for this print is also ridiculous)

FairArt - A New Kind of Marketplace, by artnotcars on Mar 24, 2024 16:58:51 GMT 1, I stumbled on this via the FA site - itโs now 2024 - is it โin the USโ yet? also, I notice the condition has to be โlike newโ - is the only for works in pristine condition? There are a lot of older collectibles (we are talking say, well looked after 50-60 year old signed Albers square screenprints) that may have slight toning at the very edges, not visible when matted over, and which canโt be โrestoredโ easily like say, an aquatint. Still very collectible. They were simply made aeons agoโฆ I have a print that has a slight crease at the corner. Also 50 years old but I kinda like that itโs how it came. Itโs lived..

FairArt - A New Kind of Marketplace, by Someone Like You on May 31, 2024 13:03:52 GMT 1, I can say that I used FairArt and I really enjoyed it, I felt safe until the end and the customer service answered all my doubts. If you haven't used it yet or don't know it, take a tour. I hope they will allow tomorrow to sell to sellers outside the UK as well.

I have just made a tour on FairArt ( looking for 3D Invader statue ), and itโs true that itโs a good place, I mean, prices and choices are attractiveโฆ Iโm just asking myself why there are so many Shrigley, at a surrealist price (for me- itโs his prices anyway)โฆ I did not found some obey ( did I have a look ?).. I have found rare and really correct prices ( comparing to eBay, or on this forum sometimes ) .., Maybe, maybe ( just taxes as Fair Art are in ๐ฌ๐ง) โฆ

FairArt - A New Kind of Marketplace, by Deleted on Jun 22, 2024 18:15:22 GMT 1, I know Fairarts target market is private sellers but I'm pretty sure Fair Art is an AMP facilitating secondary market sales via the platform. The same scenario as any AMP i would think.A service is provided for buyers and sellers of art and the business earns a 9% commission for their expertise/time, a third of which is given to the artist as a fairart royalty. I'm just trying to figure out how you don't have to pay ARR on works over โฌ1000 Euro. I think you might have created your own personal ARR loophole unless I'm missing something. It's an interesting concept, I imagine it will morph over time. Plenty of positive feedback which is good to see. I did find it a bit confusing creating another royalty. Probably simpler creating an online platform with a good reputation for giving back to the artists, charges 9% commission and returns 1/3 of any commission on sale of works sold via Fairart to the artists. The best bit about it is revenue for emerging artists sub โฌ1000 secondary. That'll help some artists a lot. I'm not sure Hirst or Banksy need another 3% on top of ARR and I would guess most buyers would choose not to pay the extra 3%, maybe not? Maybe ARR is paid, or maybe you don't classify as an AMP for some reason I can't see/think of. I skimmed over the thread, if you pay ARR obvs ignore me.
