Invader • 4000 Book Release , by Newar on Dec 25, 2022 18:58:43 GMT 1, First edition was supposed to be edited at 10k ex i guess he keep some for him. Even so 1st edition or 2nd they are going to be exactly the same. the only point for me that can change something is to have a sign or a doodle but the probability is like winning banksy raffle

Shipping for the Alert prints was included in the price and he used Flight Logistics.

I think what Acme Thunderer was like:
01. Book a ticket for the exhibition 02. Turn up 03. Enter the raffle 04. Enjoy the exhibition 05. Wait until draw 06. Be disappointed you didn’t win
As far as I know you need a ticket for the show and you are only able to enter when you show up in person.

Invader • 4000 Book Release , by Acme Thunderer on Jan 1, 2023 22:21:56 GMT 1, This was the last art delivery I received in 2022. It’s quite simply an amazing book and puts the incredible amount of work for the last 20+ years into perspective.
It is a shame that the paper is so thin, especially the cover. I will be removing the cover and storing this separately as it will get damaged too easily as I will refer to this book frequently.
I really hope in the future that this is printed as a larger hardback book as it deserves it.
These photos should give you a better idea of what will be available from the Space Shop later this month.
Happy New Year to you all. 😀

It reminds me the pléiade books, also the small format. I removed as you said the dust cover. I’m not sure yet but I even will prefer the book in a few times when I will read it and keep in my bag during my FlashInvaders huntings. The « used condition style » will be nice, we will see!

Invader • 4000 Book Release , by Lroy on Jan 5, 2023 9:50:58 GMT 1, Could a French speaker let us know if any new or interesting nuggets in the interview? Or if anyone finds a translation? Merci a vous
well we have to take one hour :-) but I have found this that resume the interview. In fact he spoke almost of the history, motivation, cultural langage about mosaic …
« On the occasion of the first exhibition devoted to him in a Parisian gallery, entitled "4000" in reference to his 4000th work, the street artist Invader returns, in a long-term interview, to his extraordinary career and takes us into the factory of his sprawling art.
With Invader urban artist A French street artist who made a name for himself by installing mosaics imitating the motifs of the famous Japanese video game, Space Invader, on the walls of major international cities, Invader is the architect of a sprawling network of more than 4,000 works, woven for more than twenty years. All are listed on an application created for this purpose, Flashinvaders, designed by the artist two years before Pokemon Go!, which allows the 140,000 subscribers to follow his work and earn points as soon as they come across and photograph one. of his works. Represented by the Over the Influence gallery, the artist has managed to remain anonymous to the general public, appearing masked in an interview. This did not prevent him from exhibiting in the greatest museums in the world and selling his works on the art market at increasingly high prices. However, Invader's work goes far beyond the iconic Space Invaders. It has expanded to other video games, such as Super Mario, passing through cartoons with The Little Mermaid and The Pink Panther, or cinema, with Star Wars, without forgetting pop celebrities such as Serge Gainsbourg, or, in a more literary register, William Burroughs. Inspired by the places he "invades", each of his works is unique and demonstrates the constant reinvention of his visual language. Borrowing from the geek vocabulary, he perceives his approach as a program of invasion of the urban territory, by means of artistic viruses intended to hack the public space. Marked by the encounter between mosaic and pixel, real space and virtual space, Invader's work is thus based on a reflection on the place of digital technology in our societies.
On the occasion of the 4000 exhibition, which is being held until January 22, 2023 at the Over the Influence gallery, as well as the publication of the book which retraces his work like a bible, 4000 – The Complete Guide to the Space Invaders, 1998-2021, Invader returns to the microphone of Romain de Becdelièvre on his long career and reveals his creative process
Crossing time and space "It took me a long time to realize the strength of this gesture of sticking a piece in the street. I realized that I had found something new since you could see posters, graffiti and paintings in the streets, but no one had thought of sticking a mosaic when it was intended for that in the base. And above all, by the greatest of luck, it was a Space Invaders that I stuck the first time. By analyzing this gesture a bit, I realized that Space Invaders meant space invaders, which is quite extraordinary because that's what I had done […] So I started this invasion of urban space, but also of planetary space since very quickly, I wanted to get out of Paris, so that it would be a planetary phenomenon, not just Franco-Parisian” Invader
“I really feel like I've embarked on an endless project. It would even take me several lifetimes to go all the way because the world is so vast. In Paris alone, I'm already close to 1,500 pieces posed and I could pose as many. Every day I discover new streets, new corners, new potential spots. I try to crisscross the planet as much as possible, but there are still a lot of countries, cities, places where I have never set foot » Invader
The art of "urban acupuncture" “There is upstream work in the workshop to design the part, make it and then glue it on as quickly as possible. Afterwards, there are no rules, I was able to install some in minutes and others in several hours, depending on their location and size. But the idea is to be as fast and as discreet as possible » Invader
"I play with the places where I work, both in terms of architecture and the memory of the place and the support that will receive the piece"

"I play with the places where I work, both in terms of architecture and the memory of the place and the support that will receive the piece
“Each piece is unique. I imposed this constraint on myself from the beginning never to reproduce the same mosaic twice. So out of the 4000 mosaics you have 4000 different original works. And I said to myself, to stay in the idea of the video game, that I was going to give them a score ranging from 10 to 100 points depending on the size, the difficulty I had to install it and the place where she is placed » Invader
The 4000 exhibition at the Over the Influence gallery in Paris, from December 10, 2022 to January 22, 2023. About forty works (Alias) are presented, most of them new and unpublished, as well as the leading edition of the book, including 500 copies are available, each signed, numbered and dated. Also, a film of the invasion of Potosi where the 4000th mosaic was placed at 4000m altitude, and a generative video gathering the 4000 space invaders listed in the book. The book 4000 – The Complete Guide to the Space Invaders, 1998-2021, published in December 2022, can be discovered by Control P editions. This book looks back on more than 20 years of the now legendary Space Invaders project, deployed on the scale worldwide, in 170 cities. The "Invader Rubikcubist" exhibition at the MIMA (Millennium Iconoclast Museum of Art), in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean in the Brussels region, is on view until January 8, 2023. This is Invader's first solo exhibition devoted entirely to Rubikcubism. The term, coined by the artist in 2005, refers to his studio work around the Rubik's cube, a famous colorful puzzle, with which he creates paintings and sculptures.

Very nice and welcoming people at OTI as well… Yeah, until you want to buy something.
I remember them threatening to call the police on people waiting in line for the POI show.
