I know exactly where you're coming from my friend, when ever I visit a city it's like a breath of fresh air. I feel like a kid in a candy shop when ever I see a piece of street art. But, hey, I'll soon be 'educating' the the local village folk

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Domy on Jul 25, 2008 18:53:42 GMT 1, I stumbled across what looked like a random spot of various bits of work in Chalk Farm/Primrose Hill pedestrian pass.... but too many jars of nectar meant i completely forgot to take any snaps.... I'll have to get back down there with camera in hand otherwise this is a pretty useless comment right!

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by DYL4N on Aug 21, 2008 16:45:16 GMT 1, Ok,
I'm flying into Heathrow on Sunday 14 Sept, catching a train to Beaconsfield (wherever that is). I have got half a day free in london on Monday before I go home.
What do you guys reckon I should not leave without seeing art wise (i'm sure i couldnt do everything in half a day!).
Also a few suggestions on a decent hotel wouldnt go a miss either! Something central to wherever!! (nothing too expensive, i'll only be putting my head down on sunday night)
Thanks in advance guys! Dyl4n

Visit LONDON 🏴 Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Heavyconsumer on Aug 21, 2008 17:52:17 GMT 1, Beaconsfield is quite beautiful (or at least it was last time I was there 9/10 years ago). There's a pub called The Royal Standard, that does home-brewed beers (very strong) and good traditional food and it claims to be one of the oldest in the UK with a history of over 900 years I think. Forget the grotty city boozers, that's a real pub! There's also an old model village in the town, which is nice for kids. It's somewhere I was planning to visit with my wife and littlun when we're over in September, just to get out of the city for an afternoon.

If you mean (as you come from chalk farm) the sunset piece on the right or the animal/leafy piece on the left it is IMHO just rubbish done by "ladies who lunch" and were allowed, by the council, to paint their sub GCSE standard toss all over the bridge.
I don't mind the animal piece - it's been there for years but the sunset wound quite a few people up - it's been tagged over a couple of times but the ladies keep coming back with their picnic baskets, glasses of champers and just touch it back up.
Sorry - rant over. Maybe the ladies have the right idea - bottle of bubbly and a spot of cream cake as you paint WITH permission from the council?
I wanna be in their crew...
