Test prints - , by lobio on May 16, 2022 13:31:12 GMT 1, Hi all,
I have been offered some test prints for purchase purported to be by Shepard Fairey in 2007 in Chicago. The provenance argues that these prints were given to an Ed Garcia who then sold them to a private gallery. There is Shepard Fairey's signature (which looks legit) on these but nothing else. These prints are one-off versions of well-known Fairey editions but modified quite a bit. Not sure if this is plausible or not and made me wonder what criteria goes into evaluating the quality of provenance when buying one-offs and whether they are even worth the risk? How easy to re-sell if I were so to desire in the future?
Thanks,
Lobio

Thanks, Lobio You might be able to contact Subliminal Projects and ask if they can be verified, or even given a COA from them... or at least get the story of 1/1 prints gifted to Ed Garcia verified.
