Indeed.
I'm confident the advertisement will serve its purpose, for both Sotheby's and Robbie Williams. But it does leave me with a slight feeling of vicarious embarrassment.
As did Justin Bieber's Girl with Balloon tattoo.

As to the video, whilst it will "offend" most of the hardened cynics here due to its slightly saccharine scripting and presentation but it will almost certainly promote the sale very well.
RW, love him or hate him, was and still is, a massively popular public figure and his appeal to those of a certain "age" and importantly now with sufficient wealth, will undoubtedly add a a good few Β£k's to the hammer price!! I personally would expect these to absolutely fly!
As an additional benefit in my opinion it will also have a knock on to the more general print market.
Just my views!

Such a special and beautiful painting, the display was very good as well.
My two kids watched the video while I was browsing the exhibition when my little one came to me and said that a man told her that this was his grandparents painting.
So she asked me if we go find the man again as she wanted to tell him how much she liked it. So we did that, had a little chat with the most charming couple and we all hoped that it doesnt disappear into a storage facility.
