The wind in the UK has scuppered my plans for the day so I thought I may as well try and sell a few bits on here. Like many people I now have more art than walls and have bought the Nick Smith print this week as well, meaning a clear out is long overdue.
I'm based in London SE5 and given the condition of a couple of these items, face to face deals might be best, but I can send more pics and chat in whats app to anyone interested. I've also got a car so driving an hour or so outside of London to meet up is a possibility too but for now I will stick to UK sales only due to items being framed.
I have done quite a few buying and selling deals on here over the years and must say for all the moaning and money chat, the forum has greatly enhanced my life and I love meeting people from here. If I have any prices wildly wrong I fully expect to be called out and will adjust. Similarly if anyone wants to make a cheeky offer I am happy to chat and if you like the look of more than one piece I'm sure we can work something out over a coffee. Cheers
TRACEY EMIN, B. 1963, OFFSET LITHOGRAPH ON PAPER
Titled ‘When I Think About Sex’, unnumbered edition of 1000, signed, dated 2005, (59cm x 84cm)
Solid stained wood frame - I think Oak with 92% anti reflective art glass.
Condition: good (minor fading on outer edge)
I bought this poster/print on a whim online at a small auction in the UK last year in a cracked frame, unsure of the condition. Once out the frame the print itself was in good condition but there was a 5mm colour fade around the edge from the previous frame. I've had it float mounted in a really beautiful dark wood frame and you wouldn't really notice the fade unless looking close up. For some it will make the print undesirable, but for someone else it might represent a big Emin print for relatively low cost, and I promise you the framing in the flesh looks fantastic.
Galleries seem to be selling these prints for big money now when mint with Hidden asking £2995 and I can see a Tate Ward sale a year ago for £1875, I am trying to get back roughly what I have paid in total so hopefully someone might fancy this on their wall for
£1300.
TRACEY EMIN, B. 1963, SIGNED NEON POSTER
Titled Love Is What You Want, unnumbered edition of 500, signed
Framing: Box section moulding, hand finished in black. 12mm Black spacer. 92% anti reflective art glass.
Condition: Poster in excellent condition BUT NOTE dry mounted.
With COA from Brandler Galleries(not sure this counts for much if anything, but in hand)
I got this poster as part of a multi-deal when buying several Emin items last year. It was in a big chunky frame with a cheap looking mount and so I was keen to change it and improve the look. My framer removed it from the original frame and sadly it was dry mounted to board so he suggested the current framing, close to the frame edge, he did a fantastic job and the print now looks vastly improved. These posters quite often had marks and nicks on them in the black bits but I can see only one blemish in this poster in the top right about 4mm small line in the black of the poster, only really visible if you have your nose to the glass, so to speak.
It is a perfect print to go straight on the wall if you like it, but clearly the dry mounting should and will impact the price greatly. I can see some neons posters are selling fro around 2k and so I will be asking for
£1200.
DAMIEN HIRST - Fruitful small
Laminated Giclee print on aluminium composite panel
Stamp signed and numbered on a label affixed verso
From the edition of 3,308
Published by Heni Editions, London
39.0 x 39.0 cm (15.3 x 15.3 in)
I've had this briefly displayed in a tray frame that a framer made cheaply for me as there is no glass and it hangs on two hooks to the rear. Can be removed or you can keep the frame if you want it. I also have the original box so I could send this one via courier I guess if someone a bit further afield wanted it boxed up without the frame. They seemed to be going for about £800 on eBay at the moment so I'll try
£750 here which is hopefully decent value if you take the frame too.
Todd Hido
#8422 From A Road Divided' print
Hand coloured with wax pastels C-Print
Signed in pencil on the reverse
Sheet size : 21,5 x 28 cm - framed in white wood with art glass. Size 43 x 38cm
This was a charity project Todd did in lockdown, think some or all of money went to charity. I've had the print framed by MFM and its decent job with art glass and a sub frame so I think £150 or so worth of framing. I can see on my emails the print cost me $148 shipped to the UK in June 2020 so if I take a hit on the framing maybe someone coming to collect another item would want this for
£175 (I've also got the Magnum square Todd Hido photo #7851 framed up if anyone is looking)
Thanks for looking and I look forward to hopefully chatting to a few people over the weekend and with any luck doing a deal or two. Cheers
