[He was standing next to me.] Think it went for about £150k, which at that time seemed like megabucks. That Love Is In The Air framing with the overspray and drips is great.
I remember being at this, held at Bonhams who tried to get a steal on urban art on the other larger auction houses.
I was standing next to the then Black Ray Press owner who suggested we club the n to buy this before selling of these individually,.

That is the name of the store KAWS sold his stuff from. So this piece is 100% real.

This makes sense. Do you think “Ten Monkeys and a Dolphin” is a nod to Ian Brown’s tune “Dolphins Were Monkeys”?

Ah yes, 2008, well remembered. Here's the result. Maybe it was £150k starting price as it went for £228k.
ISTR Ian Brown had a grin from ear to ear during the bidding, and was really excitable like a kid at Xmas. Was sweet to see. Seemed a top guy.

All I know is we’re all going to make it. Pretty soon we’ll be using Peckham rocks like bars of gold.

Hard to know. Are Phillips taking advantage of the new tax on art imported into the States
I can't see too many Americans buying Banksy art in the U.K at the moment with the extra tax.
These prices are way over the top but will we ever find out what they sell for

Edit: At the time I was really interested in Banksy, but was an unemployed single parent with two kids so couldn't afford much. And I had seen some of his street work and screen prints, but this just seemed strange. At least I bought a Flying Copper for £50!
