Didn't it cause loads of trouble? Other writers claiming it was against the 'spirit' As he turned up and started nailing bits and pieces up to his work which he had made at home? |

Mostly from 15-20 years ago and been in storage for quite some time now, but definitely one of my prized possessions.

I've bought a few things from Dirty in the past not much there that I'm really liking at the moment.
I'm a bit surprised no offers yet.

To me, there's something so intimate about it. And I always think that's pretty messed up if someone makes a drawing for you or gifts you a work to turnaround and sell it. Not to criticize or throw shade at anyone in this thread, just my personal feeling about the black books I filled though out my adolescence. I consider it part of my personal history, and so many of the writers in those books have since passed. But if I get them out of storage anytime soon perhaps I'll post some pics. |

Hanging onto the things of your past is great, as long as you don't need the money to survive at some point. I had some great early Futura pieces from the late 80's (which he gave me directly). I sadly did have to sell a couple of them at one point. Was I sad about it? Of course! I was bummed! Was I thankful I had something to sell when I really needed the money? Hell yes!
Art is awesome, but paying your bills takes precedence at times.
Honestly, my larger long term concern is my collection going for pennies upon my death. I feel certain I'll be rolling in my grave about 6 months after I die, when my wife decides "a garage sale is in order to clear out my "junk". Bye bye Orfn, Skeme, T-kid, Futura, Haring, Seen, Quik, Phil Frost, etc, etc.
I can hear it now...
"One for $5 three for $10!"

Admittedly, I am still seeking to buy back either of the 2 pieces I sold by Futura. They both come up for sale at times in the auction market. I'll get one back at some point!

Seem quite hard to come by unfortunately, Iโve posted many times that Iโm looking for but only been offered one canvas but owner decided to keep. Hope your able to pick one up also and if I find one Iโll be sure to show you!
