Fake Banksy Happy Chopper Canvas, by Reader on Apr 30, 2021 9:10:28 GMT 1, Would be like wearing a fake Rolex to impress your friends down the pub and pretending you're doing it because you like the design when basically you just want to be loved. No amount of fakery will fill that hole. But buying art from local artists will, they'll really appreciate you, using your time, energy and money on emerging names will give you a warm glow, chatting to local artists and buying the odd work you like will make you part of a community, you'll start to understand life differently maybe, instead of sitting in your fake house with your fake art (it's just a bit of fun) trying to impress your fake friends. Don't listen to him kids, it's a trap. Bin the fakes.

I think owning a real (or fake) Rolex makes you a douche . Mostly because you are out in public flashing it. My good art is no where visitors to my house can see, unless invited to those areas

Fake Banksy Happy Chopper Canvas, by Reader on May 1, 2021 11:57:59 GMT 1, When I sell my Banksy's I intend to replace the ones I really like with fakes. The fake Rolex comparisons are just plain daft. If it was any good, you'd be able to buy a cheap locally produced watch to wear instead of the fake Rolex. I agree it's very lazy. Cheap versions of famous artworks have been available, and have been displayed by those who like them, for a huge amount of time. The main issue here appears to be snobbery. Post that on the Di-Faced tenners thread :-)

Don't listen to him kids, it's a trap. Bin the fakes. It would be quite a twist to find out that lizzie.bee of thebaybay listing above is herself an aspiring local artist still learning her craft. She hasn't quite found her 'thing' yet, but she is buying her art supplies with the windfall profits she just made off of that 130GBP sale. Maybe lizzie.bee is actually an employee of an international conglomerate packing away corporate profits at unwitting buyers' expenses. All nine of them.
Maybe there is a dissociation in the Banksy world that has happened. There is original Banksy from the times before, there is Banksy Group Ltd as it exists now, and then their is the larger Banksy Movement which is the spirit of his art like Impressionism, Fauvism, etc. In the movement there are two groups. One copies his work and the other develops original artwork in the spirit of Banksy. In order to create work that is original, you first have to copy and get a deeper understanding of the work. That group working toward creating their own original art are probably the ones selling all the Banksy knock-offs on ebay.
People still wear watches???

Timex- Ironman. When I get fancy, a seiko dive watch from the 80s. Full disclosure , the only closed toe shoes I've worn in 16 months is crocs and 5 mm surf booties... I'm not getting fancy anytime soon

That’s a broad statement. I have a Rolex, and I’m not a douche. Although I have done some things in the past that I regret, consistent douchebaggery isn’t one of my traits. A fake Rolex is super douchey. Art I can understand; if someone likes an image but it’s not affordable, throw a fake on the wall. But a fake Rolex serves only one purpose.
On a side note, I think the word douche needs to be used more. It’s a good, easy and concise way to describe a combination of several shitty, toolbaggy, cheeseball traits someone has. Nothing more needs to be said of that person if it’s agreed that they’re a douche.
