Have you had a bad experience with these at Swordes. ??

Agree it’s not Sotheby’s but would hope all ok with them. Going to view before to get as many facts as possible .

At those prices I would struggle to get the other 3.

May have to be content to keep hold of what I have got and maybe sell when the time is right.

How can I be bumping the sale when I’m going to view one of the fragments I have said I haven’t got.

There is a thread in here also where I asked people to contact me if they are selling any fragments from Riley.

Think your looking for some angle that’s not there.

To be honest and I didn’t want to mention it , it was a fellow members on here who alerted me to this sale , knowing I was looking for Fragment 5.

Yeah saw this, not the best auction house for her work but given how hot she is I’m thinking it will still do OK. Probably a good buying opportunity as prices at the big auction houses seem to have taken off in the last few months, I imagine these pieces have become a little more expensive than when you started the thread.

Someone messed me about ref selling my Bridget Riley Chicago 8 print so putting it back up on here.

It’s in excellent condition . Nicely framed as well. Looks really impressive in person.

Want £16k for it .

As someone pointed out , one sold in USA recently in poor condition ( look at condition details) for £9k , so think mine is priced ok. Feel sure if it came up in a major auction house here it would do very well. The sale in the USA is here from a small auction house.

Contrary to what people are saying, the USA one was in *not bad* condition When you check the photos and report 'Some roughness to upper left hand corner due to masking tape. Could possibly be conserved.'.
I'd say it was in 'very good' condition.
Having said that, yours looks in better condition but doesn't warrant a near doubling of price by £7k. I think yours is more in the £12k bracket max.

Can't say I disagree with the above, her market is strong but I think the ask is optimistic. Saying that if you don't get your price you may only have to wait a while for the market to catch up.

I went and viewed the Swordes auction last Monday and was looking to buy the fragment prints in the sale. Also in the sale was this Bridget Riley lot which sold for £12,500 hammer. When you add commission , vat and ARR on it £17k . Now I know it’s personal choice but if you put that item at the sale by Riley alongside this Chicago 8 print , I’d guarantee 80% or more would want the Chicago 8 print.

It’s each to there own as they say.

If it hammers at £12.5k then someone paid £17k after commission and ARR.Surely that’s not difficult to understand. The auction in USA was a third rate auction and Riley not as sought after over there. I’ve put the work up on here and a lot of the comments appear to want to knock you. Can you just leave it be and if someone wants it they will let me know. Pretty sure I did not ask for snide comments about my pricing .

I bought an intervals I shortly after release on secondary for £2.5k. Hangup currently have a II for £4.5k - based on other Riley print prices (similar size and edition number) I'd guess £3.5k might well be about right now for a private sale. Auction house and gallery will look for closer to Hangup prices.....

Looking for Bridget Riley Fragment prints on Perspex from 1965. There are 7 of them in total. Looking for No’s 2, 5 and 7.

Have a few of them myself , trying to complete the set.

If I can’t get them , will maybe look at selling the 4 I have.
