Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by sakesake on Jun 18, 2019 23:21:35 GMT 1, Dear All,
I am looking for a reliable & affordable crating & shipping company based in London who can crate & ship works overseas (Canada). The only one I got in touch with is called Flight Logistics Group Ltd – ShipArt™ and they are nowhere near cheap. I am waiting return from another shipper and I cross my fingers it's not as expensive. Otherwise I might have to fly over there to do the work myself.
I'd appreciate your wisdom,
Thank you!

Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by Happy Shopper on Jun 18, 2019 23:55:31 GMT 1, I never found FL particularly expensive for crating and shipping. I’m using them again soon to bring something from US, and their quote was a third of the alternative US company!

I shipped a very large print, flat. Best crating I have ever seen.
Hope it helps.

I had cheaper quotes than HMC but altogether it appeared to be my best option. Thank you Fasteddie for the input!

of its bomb proof then any major delivery company will take it ~ bombproof packaging is heavy, so is glass, expect to pay big, or your buyer needs to expect to pay big for it

Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by Zippy on May 2, 2020 18:09:24 GMT 1, Which country are you shipping it to? If your HM, it would be safer to have it professionally removed and packed. The money saved in shipping and crating will pay towards the new owner getting it reframed.

Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by Limited Prints on May 3, 2020 2:08:56 GMT 1, have used UPS for 20+ pieces over the years and not had a single problem with their Pack and Ship, if they pack it they will insure with glass, its a little pricy but really the best option imo. Basically bring it into the store and tell them you want there pack and ship, they will weigh and measure it and give you a price, depending on size weight and destination i would guess 1-2 hundred inside U.S.

Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by LJCal on May 3, 2020 3:25:34 GMT 1, My experience is that it usually works out cheaper and less risky to unframe and let the buyer frame to their taste, recent example was the packaging and shipping from US to UK was 400usd framed and 80usd unframed.

Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by Horatio Nelson on Jun 27, 2020 14:39:56 GMT 1, I will be sending a print in a tube from London to another user based in Canada. It’s currently in a 96cm long heavy duty tube (shipped that way to me from the gallery). I’ve been searching around for postage quotes - FedEx, DHL, Parcelforce etc but they are all coming out at anywhere between £80-120, which seems excessive (print is selling for circa £200).
I might be able to find a smaller tube, but it has to be at least 75cm or so in length to allow for dimensions of print.
Any suggestions on/how to send this in a reliable but relatively inexpensive way would be appreciated.

Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by robotseatsoup on Jun 27, 2020 14:47:52 GMT 1, That seems like a lot of money, have you tried just taking it to the local postie? Ask for the cheapest possible version of what you want (tracked, signed, 24 hours etc) I got quoted £23 for something then they checked again after I asked if it was the cheapest possible and managed to get it sent for £14. Worth asking
Anything above 70cm is regarded as big parcel so they’ll probably do it by weight.

Shipping Art • UK, USA, Asia, Europe, by trees on Jul 15, 2020 15:16:37 GMT 1, Hi all, i found a framed print being sold from a gallery currently that I wanted to buy. They won't ship to the US, nor will they remove a framed print. I would need to have a proxy send this overseas for me. Does anyone have any experience with this. Specifically the print will be sent from Paris to Florida. Any idea how best to package and what company to ship with? Trying to decide if it's worth it or too risky. Thanks in advance.

The assumption being that there is something that they want to keep hidden, they're unprofessional, inexperienced, incompetent, or all four.

It was shipped NYC to HK without any problems.
Always pack it super well though to be safe.

It arrived in a week in absolutely perfect condition.
