Britain has no idea of its trading relationship or tariffs with the rest of the world after January 1st. Don't lump everyone in the same boat. I know exactly what's going on. It's literally all I've been doing at work for the past six months (well, that and looking at this forum).
Payer responsibility for VAT on goods coming into the UK for shipments worth <£135 shifts from buyer to seller, as things stand, after January 1st. That's probably why he's stopped.

Really? That’s the first I’ve heard of that. Do you have a link to more info? How will we import anything!?

Obey suspending UK orders , by iamzero on Dec 15, 2020 23:51:55 GMT 1, I was in an aquatic store last weekend to buy some marine livestock and was told the US has slapped an extra 33% tax on stuff being shipped through there. Stuff caught and shipped here has to land at Hawaii on the way and gets the levy added. The price of stuff is nuts right now.

I suppose when you are shopping for “marine livestock “ from around the globe you probably are financially sound

That might be stretching things a little but the reef I keep wouldn’t look as good if it was stocked with things from waters surrounding the U.K. Most stuff is Indo Pacific and has been tough on traders the last couple of years because of the ban on exports from certain places. Throw in the pandemic and the US being idiots with tariffs and prices are fast becoming unaffordable.

Obey suspending UK orders , by Balboa on Dec 16, 2020 13:19:03 GMT 1, Correct. It’s sub-£135. No change to anything over £135.
Thanks for the link. If I am reading it right then this new rule only applies to items worth less that £135. Let's face it, artworks are usually far more than that so it looks like the rules are unchanged for 99% of the art you may buy next year. The document says... "...if this is over £135 then normal VAT and customs rules will apply, meaning that import VAT will be chargeable and so supply VAT should not be charged at the point of sale."

Absolutely insane new rules, if I’m understanding correctly!?
What company/gallery outside the UK will want to go to the hassle of registering for paying UK VAT when they can just sell to the rest of the world instead!? Buying prints, and the type of thing we do here is fucked in the UK!!

So I wonder what happens if I buy a print £135+ from Europe in 2020 (so I paid VAT). but it ships in 2021...are they going to try and charge me import duty as well?

Our couriers will need a period of rest in which the new regulations for the export of Italian products will be approved. So the conditions of sale and shipping in 2021 will change." Ah well, at least we've got blue passports. Fücking Brexit voting fücking morons. No worries, FR will flip you a few bottles of D*Face whisky

Great Britain is no longer part of Europe either for economic transactions and the movement of people, therefore reestablishing borders with what that implies

Only half the country voted for it and still think its about being British and winning a war they were never part of.
